Nuclear batteries have been around for ages. You used to be able to get a plutonium (P-238, 88-year half-life) pacemaker, back in the 70's, vs today's lithium-based(and cheaper to produce) pacemakers with an average battery life of about 8 years. There are still people living with the same pacemaker half a century later, rather than having to go in for battery replacement surgery every decade.

I agree 100% about the geometry vs algebra. I remembering struggling greatly in Algebra 1, and I think I know why. Grades 1-9 I was taught in terms of REAL numbers representing ACTUAL items. So I didn't have a problem with word problems like a lot of students do either. The answer was ALWAYS tangible even if it was a fraction, because fractions are tangible. Then I meet Algebra 1, where I am taught that the ANSWER to a problem can be something like 2y over x. That is NOT an answer; that's just a whole NEW problem to solve! Unless you can place 2y over x hundred dollar bills in my hand that problem has not been completed. I think if they had started sneaking it in years earlier a little at a time my mind would have comprehended it better. Instead for me it was like being taught in English grades 1-9 and then in 10th being told "In 10th, 11th, and 12th you will be taught solely in Japanese". I aced Geometry easily, because it was based on the real physical world, none of that 2y over x shit in sight! Even the Proofs in geometry where you had to write out all the statements that explained exactly how you knew it was true was simple to me, because it was completely logical and obvious. I could knock out a 15-20 step proof in like 30 seconds. 95% of the class thought proofs were the hardest thing ever invented and took forever to do one, which just blew my mind...

I would assume that this is more applicable to the USA way of teaching those subjects. Yeah, people can just lunge at me "you're the outlier!" but I never had problems with algebra, geometry or physics, from middle school up to university level. And generally those two subjects are usually taught by the same person, so, on average, comprehension level is the same for both subjects.

Peregrine Lunar Lander was always on a planned trajectory to come back to the Earth. It was supposed to then go back out to the moon to intercept, but since they'd lost too much fuel, they adjusted their trajectory to make sure they could burn up in the atmosphere and stay over an uninhabited part of the ocean. Thankfully, NASA has five more lunar landers on queue for this year as part of the CLPS program. Hopefully they will be much more successful.

Making the environment wheelchair-friendly to accomodate delivery bots is a pretty unexpected win-win. Maybe it's a good idea to just aim for a "wheelchair" with arms design instead of bipeds for demostic use too - way more space for batteries and you get a lower center of mass and therefore better intrinsic stability.

You should check your facts about book banning., You got most of them wrong. The legislation intends to restrict books in the state’s schools that are “alleged to contain pornography or obscene depictions of sexual conduct.” Unless that is something you think children should have access to. O'Reilly had 2 books banned not all. Killing Reagan: The Violent Assault That Changed a Presidency and Killing Jesus: A History neither considered obscene. It is Escambia County School District doing this to make the legislation appear inane. Took about 90 sec to find these FACTS.
