Firstly, I think you have a very pleasant disposition, it’s refreshing to watch a reviewer who doesn’t come across as a smart ass or know it all, but clearly carries out a thorough and well thought out review. I appreciate your efforts Sir, as I realise you don’t have a big crew and know these productions can be very time consuming. I’m waiting for Australia to get the GX550 Overtrail + before hopefully ordering one. We have 3 models here but frustratingly not the Overtrail PLUS and I have a spine injury and are hoping that the PLUS has better seats than the base Overrrail which didn’t offer me the support I need for my injury. If in fact, by chance you read this comment, did you get the opportunity to sit in the base GX550 then a chance to compare it to the comfort of the Overtrail + (the drivers seat comfort)? I rarely Sub, but have subbed immediately, I’ve hit like and left the comment. You deserve to go further with your channel but don’t change the way you deliver your reviews, some professional journalists could learn from you. If you ever make it to Tasmania, reach out & Inwill buy you a coffeee, we have the most beautiful island in the world, some spectacular 4x4 trails, so I’d be looking forward to getting my hands on one of these. Thank you very much! I appreciate that! It was a lot of work for sure but good fun to make!! I tried a regular Overtrail and a Plus and the seats didn't seem too different in terms of support. Just the added adjustments and massage function. I'd love to make it out there one day! Cheers my friend!

@ Thankyou so much for taking the time to respond to me. It’s such a shame in this day and age (I’m not singling out just Lexus as nearly all manufacturers do it now) mist manufacturers seem to control very tightly what you can pick and choose in your ordered car. For example, you can’t get a GX550 without a sunroof. You can have a premium seat. Actually Volvo doesn’t really nice premium seat, no one can really match it. Most the other car builders let you pick a model, a sub-model and internal and external colours and that’s about it. I found the Lexus seat didn’t support me enough in the lower back, due to my injury, I get about 10 minutes In that seat until my pain increases significantly, I just wish the Lumbar support had a greater range. 😭. I can’t even buy a Volvo seat and install it in the Lexus 🥺. In the modern car, upgrading a seat isn’t an option. I was tempted to get a Volvo XC60 Recharge T8 ultimate which is a nice car if you are lucky enough not to have electrical issues and the value plummets like a brick in water, reliability as it ages, not like a Lexus and it’s not going to give me what I desire from the GX. Enuf whinging from me 😂. Thankyou for your review, much appreciated 👍 I look forward to seeing more of your reviews 🙏. Ps: Maybe the massage function will improve my longevity in the seat but from what I’ve seen it’s a fairly underwhelming massage, I need to try it……if only Lexus Australia would hurry up.

V8's aren't going away due to MPG, they're going away due to emissions. This twin-turbo V6 is about the same MPG as the V8, but emissions are way down.

Great review! I have 8k on my OT+ and absolutely love it! Haven’t had opportunity yet to take it off road but will be soon. I have the Nori with Onyx Roof and Chateau interior (Photo in my Profile). Really a head turner! A few things I’d like to see improved upon are larger gas tank, aux buttons and have the heated seats get a bit hotter. Also, the ambient lighting could be a tad brighter. But I’m nit-picking. Impressive work Bern, I’m subscribed!

Hi, great video. Are the rock rails the Lexus OEM ones? Mine that is coming in a few days has running boards, and eventually I want to swap out for rock rails in the spring.

Great review Bern! Nice offroad demo. I have been able to get up to 25 mpg driving very easy and 12 to 14 mpg towing a 7,000lb trailer in the mountains is easy.... plenty of power & handles well. Wish my GX550 had a 25 to 30 gallon tank.

This truck is so capable that it requires a less and less experienced driver. Of course, this diminishes the personal sense of satisfaction that the driver derives by making those numerous navigational decisions. At what point will the driver sit in the back seat and just command the truck to navigate the hazardous road on its own? Along with the independent capability of the truck is its growing complexity, costs to provide the engineering, mechanical devices, and software that makes this all come together, and the probable lessened longevity of this vehicle with the exponential growth in system complexity. At some point the competition will re-invent the GX 470 and people will rave about its simplicity, lack of technical capability, and relatively low cost.

@@imnotusingmyrealname4566 Gx has no recalls, no 24 model GX have recalls, plus the 24 GX us Built in the Land Cruiser plant in Japan, big difference bud... this SUV is rock solid and that V6 Turbo has been tested ups to a million miles by Toyota, the ones that had issues were assembly plant issues in other models, not an engine design issue. Toyota knows how to make a V6.. no worries here at all!
