@@axum4335 It is if your conscience before God says it is. But for others who do take a little in good conscience and without getting drunk, it's not a sin for them. However if in taking in a little alcohol could cause one who does not partake to stumble, then to the one who drinks it is sin. This is super clear in the New Testament. The Lord Jesus drank a little wine also but the Holy Spirit gives solid teaching for a the church whereby you can abstain in good conscience and if you wish to partake then do so with a good conscience, but remember your conscience is accountable to God and one should only be partaking in alcohol as medicinal means or as a means of rememberance (Lord's supper - in my congregation we just use juice), gladness/celebration and they are not to get drunk with it. Which is to say, only have a little. But if a person partakes in the consumption of alcohol and they know it will make them drunk or alter their mind (tipsey) then this is clearly a sin because they know and are deliberately disobeying the God in both not keeping a clean conscience and not doing what is honourable in the sight of all to build up the church. But to those who abstain from it you have an obligation to the church to make it clear around others whether by them partaking in consuming alcohol could offend you and/or cause you to stumble and so your brethren should then no longer consume any alcohol around you. But you are to say these things in truthful conscience before God and not because its just what you may think is right in a selfish manner e.g. "well if I don't drink it then no one else is either" - that kind of thinking. We're called to love one another and in doing so, do what is best for all in the church in that sense. After all, it's only alcohol and nothing for congregations to get split over. If one brother or sister approach me about it and explained it made them feel uncomfortable etc. I'd just get rid of it for their sake. It's not a hard choice, not for me anyway. It's alcohol and means nothing to me. Personally I abstain from alcohol and I will very rarely have a little beer or wine but that is if I feel like it at a summer BBQ at big family gatherings and other such events. But 9 times of out 10 I just abstain from it because the Lord Jesus removed my desire for it (in my early twenties, uncoverted and unbelieving, I was out every weekend drinking and partying.) But after becoming born again the Lord Jesus took that sinful desire for drunkenness away from me because drunkards will not inherit the Kingdom of God if they die in their unbelief and therefore unrepentance.

The word does not occur in the Bible. The term comes from a Latin word meaning “a carrying off, a transport, or a snatching away.” The concept of the “carrying off” or the rapture of the church is clearly taught in Scripture.
