So before anybody gets mad, we all thought ozai killed azulon and zuko's mom left cuz she couldnt handle it or live with it (that's what i thought the first time i watched the ep) but it was actually zuko's mom who killed azulon to save zuko's life since azulon wanted zuko killed as ozai's punishment So his mom was banished as punishment for killing azulon. Yep, firelord Ozai is a pr*ck So it makes sense why the reactors would think that too cuz it was vaguely implied honestly and i only knew cuz someone commented on another avatar reaction mashup i watched before

That's what I thought as a kid too pretty much, I made the connection that she left because she had something to do with Azulon's death, though obviously I didn't really grasp the finer political elements as a kid

Even if he was twisted, I appreciate the fact that Azulon had some concept of family ties--even if he wanted his other grandson to die so his son could understand loss.
