I remember him as a celebrity panelist on Can You Top This? There’s an appearance or two that I can very vaguely recall but if I didn’t know any better I’d swear he had a mustache at the time.

The guy was a ventriloquist, inventor and beloved iconic voice actor who lived to 82. We should all be so lucky to have such a “sad” life!

Narration too stiff and mispronounced names. You can hear the paper rustling ad he reads. Not a sad ending. He lived a full life and died, as we all will.

Another thing too. When THE TIGGER MOVIE was in production, Paul was originally signed on to voice Tigger like always, but after just one day, Paul was let go from the project because his voice became too scratchy to portray Tigger anymore. As a result, Jim Cummings took his place.

He had another children's show in the 70's called Runaround. He was in an episode of The Brady Bunch. Also him and Jerry Mahoney were in a Kellogg's Frosted Mini Wheats commercial.

What was his "sad ending"? That said, I grew up watching and enjoying him on tv in the 1950s and 60s. I just noticed how much Jerry Mahoney looks like the face used for Steeple Chase on Coney Island Amusement Park from that time. I bet that was Winchell's inspiration.
