Dabi, real name Toya Todoroki, is a major antagonist in the My Hero Academia manga and anime series. He is the eldest son of the Pro Hero Endeavor, driven insane due to his neglectful and selfish actions, and becoming a villain to enact revenge. He became affiliated with the League of Villains, a former member of the organization's since disbanded Vanguard Action Squad, and later one of the nine lieutenants of the Paranormal Liberation Front. Alongside his teammates, he serves as one of the main antagonists in the Forest Training Camp Arc, Pro Hero Arc, Paranormal Liberation War Arc, and Final War Arc.

I agree 100% Dabi is a tragic character and Endeavor is majorly responsible. But Dabi / Toya isn't 100% innocent. He is a confirmed murderer and criminal. I have to wonder how much of "Dabi" came into being out of Toya's own stubbornness and unwillingness to compromise on anything. Yes it is,his power and body, but if you're not cut out for the hero life... that's just the way it is sadly.

I think, stubborn is an issue, but its not THE issue. It's that he lets his hate take control of his decisions AND his daddy issues. Massive dad issues. He IS cut out for the hero life as long as he keeps his fire to a minimum (if he actually wanted to be a hero), but he's not 'good enough' for his dad's time. That's just the way it is, as Dabi probably saw it. He's not good enough for his dad's time. People in this situation might give up on a relationship with their parents, but Dabi lets his hate take control and decides to be the villain.

I really hope that Dabi manages to make it out of this alive but the chances are impossibly slim, he's basically a walking piece of burnt scar tissue at this point. One thing I know is more likely to happen is Endeavour's downfall as a hero and person now that everyone knows what he did to his family and that he caused Toya to become Dabi because he was so absorbed with his goal of surpassing All Might, which he could've done himself if he simply became a better person instead of forcing Rei to birth 4 children (I suspect that Shoto could have been the result of a rape because Rei clearly didn't want to keep having kids), causing large amounts of emotional and mental stress and trauma to all of them along with his wife, causing his eldest to go mad from being cast aside and replaced, his second and third most likely having some twisted version of survivors guilt, his youngest being severely traumatised due to years of abuse, and his wife to be horrified by the sight of their child and badly burn his face as a result. In my opinion Enji Todoroki is a monstrous and selfish being, only caring about himself and what's best for him, his attempts at reconciling with his family so far have been quite frankly pathetic, and I personally hope he gets left to rot in Tartarus while his past actions swallow him in a sea of guilt and shame, or even better, he gets his hero licence revoked and is immediately rejected from any interveiw for a decent job and spends the rest of his life barely scrapping by meanwhile the rest of the family (hopefully including Toya) heal from their trauma as best they can, and manage to do the things they want (and maybe change their surnames to Himura, Rei's maiden name)
