The Life Story of the Late Dr James McConnell

On behalf of our entire team, we wish to pay tribute to Pastor James McConnell. I never dreamed when we started the Sunday Service Series for what then looked like a three-week lockdown in March 2020. That lockdown would continue on so we decided to post some of Pastor McConnell's sermons to continue the series. We had no idea then the battle with illness he would shortly enter into and finally his passing on the 17th of July 2021. On behalf of the team at APS Gospel, we wish to send our deepest sympathies to the entire McConnell family circle & we'd ask that you would continue to pray for them in the weeks and months ahead.
Today we remember a man that loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all his heart and desired that others would come to know his Saviour and friend. This very outreach may not have even begun had it not been for the faithful witness and example that Pastor James McConnell was. I was saved under his ministry on the 4th of August 1996 which was actually the last Sunday service we just put out before his passing.
I was very blessed to sit under his ministry even after his retirement in 2014 as he continued to preach even through lockdown and win souls for the kingdom of God. It was not easy to put this post together. But I trust it will not only be a fitting tribute to the Life of Pastor James McConnell but that his life story might also reach not only the lost but perhaps inspire some Christians to seek the Lord Jesus Christ as Pastor James McConnell did and that you too would follow the Lord Jesus Christ's command in Mark 16:15 King James Version (KJV)

Now read this verse again and fill your name in the blank spaces For

If you want to receive the gift of God into your heart today there's
only one thing you must accept and that is you are a sinner before God
and you can receive Him into your heart today by praying a simple
prayer just as you'd talk to a friend.
Prayer:
Lord I know that I am a sinner Lord please forgive me of my sins. I am
ready to trust you as my Lord and Saviour. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for
coming to earth to die for my sins. I believe you are the Son of God
who died and rose from the dead on the third day. Thank you for
bearing my sins and shedding your blood Lord on the cross of Calvary
and giving me the gift of eternal life. I believe your words are true.
Come into my heart, Lord Jesus save me for time and for eternity put
your Holy Spirit upon me to guard and guide me and be my Lord and
Saviour in Jesus Name Amen.
If you just prayed that prayer and really meant it this is what the
Lord Jesus Christ has promised to all who trust in Him.

I'm 78 but I never heard of this man or his church. Great video, very inspiring. What a man and a godly man. On a side note, their music was terrific--way ahead of the times. He seemed to transcend denominationalism so thoroughly. Feb. 3, 2023, St. Joseph, MO, USA.

I am writing from Hong Kong, I came to know the preaching and ministryof pastor McConnell this week . I wish I could have met him. I loved his bike sermons , and standing against the Muslim. I enjoy the hymns they are very anointed. I wish you all greetings t brothers and sisters in Belfast.

Our earthly lost is Heaven's gain. What a day that Dr. James McConnell is having. Falling to sleep here and awaking in the presences of his Lord and Saviour. What a time is he having. I enjoyed his sermons and the sing at Whitewell not long ago. I was hoping that one day I would be able to cross over from USA to Ireland to worship with him and the folks at Whitewell. But soon and very soon we will rejoicing altogether around the throne of Jesus. Our deepest sympathy to his family and to the Whitewell church. Our prayers is with ya.

We have emigrated, but this was my church in Whitewell, on the Shore Road, and I miss it so much. Pastor McConnell inspired me, convicted me, filled me with good bread, saved my husband and loved me. I miss his preaching so much….I’m wandering around in the desert now, although after watching this I’m so eager to get back to Christ 🙏 please pray I find my way back 🙏

These people had a great thirst and longing for the Lord Jesus and He fullfilled their desire! They should be an encouragement for us to pursue what they also pursued: a deeper intimacy with God! They were not seeking fame..the fruit came because of Jesus in their life!

I found the recordings of his past sermons maybe 3 years ago, I wish I had heard of him before that because he was an amazing man of God and his teaching genuine. Sorry for your loss.

I miss the Pastor so much. I argued with him on the phone etc but always left loving him . He was like my late da. He was a Gospel preacher.. He did ask me things about me that were not comfortable. I Thank God for not being comfortable . God convicts not condemn. My Big bro and sis in law belong to Whitewell They both loved him so much. He came to our church in Southampton with James Forsyth when he was about 18 and you could tell than he was going to be a great preacher. Myself and a friend of mind sang a duet in the Whitewell church soon after it was open on a Sunday evening with 180 there…how things have grown since those day. He sure was a focused man of God.

Spurgeon Pastor mcconnell Bob Gass iain paisley Leonard ravenhill and all the old preachers are together in heaven for great bible study our lord jesus will be head of course and these preachers will share in there views on scripture that will be a great debate but u tube wont be recording it the word is Jesus he will ask there views on scripture because on earth he inspired what they preached wonderful .
