Thanks for posting a video for the people who already know the difference between a Damsel fly and a dragonfly😊

Long story short im an avid fish keeper and have fish tanks all over my house I had just transferred a fish from an old tank that I decided to let grow out with my live plants. About a week later I noticed one of these damselfly nymphs in the tank! At first I didn’t know what it was and was a little freaked out but after a quick google I found out it was indeed an damselfly nymph. I made the decision to let the little guy live in the tank until he was ready. This morning (about a month later) I went to that same tank to find a fresh empty nymph husk on one of my floating plants frogbit then noticed an adult damselfly just sitting on the rim of the tank! so I cupped him in a cup and let him fly away! Such a cool experience.

Wish I could upload a photo of it on here but I can’t. It was like a chrome green and was absolutely beautiful!!

Minutes later it was probably eaten by a bird.

This is amazing! I recently found some damselfly larvae in one of my aquariums, I released them and hope they can complete their lifecycle! Very interesting

Hey! I'm the same, I was going to let mine go but it's winter so I'm not so sure anymore, you wouldn't happen to know anything about where and when I should let it go? Or maybe what to feed it perhaps in case I have to keep it?

Hmm not sure! There is a lot of useful information online, I released mine into a local creek, if you have a spare aquarium might be fun to watch 👍🏼
