The Lightning Strike & Thunderstorm Show (From My Backyard) (October 4, 2021)

Well it appears a usual “possible chance” of thunderstorms was actually more apparent this time, and certainly a lot both lightning strikes and thunder (to go along with some hail and heavy rain). It was glorious to watch, am not kidding you!
Only once in a blue moon does the local land EVER have this kind of show - last one I remember was definitely in 2005 with a severe thunderstorm and lightning marathon 😯 Hoping for more of these in the future esp this month which is perfect for this kind of weather 😁

Man, the way that sky looked behind the trees......you knew it was gonna be a good one. In SC here I see that a lot. Skies so dark, it makes the power lines look white. When there's a storm coming, I'm outside until the lightning gets too close, or it starts raining. Awesome video there.

Yeah I couldn't agree more... but we only get this once in a while. The one in October of 2005 lasted all night. I remember I couldn't sleep anymore after I woke up around 2:30am with that severe thunderstorm marathon much worse than this one.

Not sure where this one was, but we got nailed in Central Orange County. I've never captured more lightning pics and video out here in the coastal areas my entire life. Especially in just an hour. Nice vid... The only thing I would recommend is recording away from those wires. It can strike a pole a mile away and come down those wires right at ya. I was struck that way once before. It can usually come up through dry concrete also.

Is this the type of severe storms yous get in LA? it's crazy how different nations & states define severe cause this is a average storm to us. All goods though.

A thunderstorm is actually a natural disaster that can cause destruction, power outages and even fatalities, not supernatural power or religious source of energy, That just not how weather works
