Maybe a video idea for you could be a really In depth packing video with discussion on errors people can make and how to avoid them. Step throughs, lack of tension in lines etc. And how reduce wear on the rig while packing. I'm sure we'd all really like to see your thoughts on the matter.

hi Colin I commented about the "issue" with slider hungups, went ahead and bought a new lubricant, I made sure it's PTLF. Still WD-40 for that matter :). I will try the tips described as my dropzone opens again. I got to love your dry sense of humor though 'unscheduled lines disassembly' :D (did I quote you right?) I lately found a tear on my b.a.s.e. canopy located in the cell 5L right next to the A attachment point. Although I'm positive the damage occurred when my canopy got hooked up on some branches I asked the manufacturer if given the spot it could have been overstress. Quote: 'If there would be a super hard opening we would see harness damages or injury to jumper, but not canopy. If it is old canopy than it is possible, normally some attachment points, lines because of wear etc.' it would be interesting to hear about hard openings and harness damage in a future video

Hot tips are nice :-D love you humor Really good inputs and information, esspecially when you haven´t studied the big parachute manual, joined your most time in the rigging loft and together with riggers at the bar! PdF are great, terrible they stopped but just relined one last weeks. NOVA information was nice, never had one in my hand! I had a main steering line manufacturer done stitching opened (or forgotten) last year, terrible seeing it getting of on final approach :/ On the point: Great rigging experience and knowledge you give here forward to other! As always, skydiving is dangerous and can kill you, and riggers are killers, but more tools we have in our skill box that more we will understand about what we see! Thank YOU for your kind words MIKEHLM. Yes in their heyday PdF was at the leading edge of design and technology for our skydiving world, up there in the top three. Even the best new canopies have arrived with a stitch or two missing on the lines, etc. I wish I could say, an unstitched line has never slipped past me, but I'm ashamed to say I can't. I hope I catch all future errors before they leave my workshop, duplicate inspections, on the next day if possible, to see with different eyes as it were, should help detect the error. As they say at Flight Safety International, "The best safety device in any aircraft, is a well trained crew" You are always welcome in my workshop, whether it's actualy or virtually :) I hope you and all your loved ones slide into the New Year happy, healthy and painlessly. ):)

Hello Colin.. My home dropzone just discovered a very repeatable way to create a freebag lock. I would like to discuss this with you. ( following a tandem fatality in a neighboring dropzone where the reserve never got out of the freebag.' if one A line gets pulled about 8 inchs during reserve deployment ( camera snag for exemble. ) the result is a snad at the freebad elastic, and no deployment.

Hello Philippe, Sorry for the delay in my response, BagLock is a very real issue, some times I wish we could have everything connected to one long riser, with a shrivel sleeve over the first 1.5meters of the lines and a swivel, like some emergency chutes for HangGliding. Asymmetric line deployment, can result in poor outcomes, we see it on Mains with poor stow tensions (too loose) or toggles off at bag LiftOff or one LineGroup/Riser snagging on bottom corner of Reserve container or a hand or helmet snag. I attempt to keep line bites tight (5 to 8 kg) and not too big of a bite, (3 to 4cm). Big Bites at 12cm have a higher chance of turning into a "Birdsnest" type tension knot, if asymmetric line deployment happens

Could you make a video talking about different container systems? compare Javelin, Icon, Vector etc and give your opinion on design choices and who would choose what =) I'm having difficulty making a decision because they all seem so similar

Hello V__, Thank you for the comment, It's a question I'm asked frequently. My choice would be a Vector, BUT, almost all the rigs on the market are quite capable of fulfilling all your needs, IF You are capable of operation it correctly. Drive my 33year old Seat Marbella or a new Volvo XC90 off a cliff edge, the result will be quite similar. "The best safety device in any aircraft , is a well trained crew." (Flight Safety International) the same can be said for your equipment (its maintenance person) and you. Due to my cognitive bias, you may pick up in the videos the Vector keeps coming out on the top of my list, but comparison video, there's a chance I be found in a ditch with a hole between my eyes :) Make sure you have the measurements made well and preferably if you have a frend with the same model you want and it fits you like a glove, record the serial number of that Rig and refer to it on your order form, so the manufacture can cross check.

@Colin Scott Thomson "Hole in a ditch" is exactly the opposite direction I'm going for hahaha No one else goes into this level of detail about the equipment & your videos are awesome because it gives the baby skydivers new insights + better chance to get old & wise =) Car analogy was on point. If asking why the vector stands out is trouble, do you already have a video on risers/riser covers? I've been hearing that the magnetic covers are supposed to help with occasional hard opening or riser coming out of the cover prematurely but im not entirely sure how much practical difference it makes.
