I loved sight reading this for first trombone! Then when music got handed out for our concert I got 2nd trombone. I didn't really care honestly untill i looked at it... Listen, trombone players aren't usually salty about their part assignments, or the fact that being a low brass instrument means you usually dont get super interesting parts; but when the first trombone part gets to play melody several times and solos/solis, while 2nd and or 3rds are just sitting there playing sustained notes or resting the whole time (*cough*cough* Circle of Life *cough* Hakuna Matata) then the salt shall burst forth from every orifice in our 2nd/3rd part bodies! Trombones shall stand united or not at all! Like seriously, if all I get to play is some whole and half notes Im totally down for that (without those long low brass chords the music would be so dull and lifeless), or like some super accented bell tones, etc. but only if all the trombone parts do. obviously there has to be variation in the parts, i get that, im not saying make the rhythms all the same 24/7, but dont give the firsts some kick-ass part while the 2nds and or 3rds dont get to do jack shit. If there's a fourth part on a piece, thats fine tho for it to be pretty boring because 90% of the time it will be for Bass Trombone, and so you usually have the tubas for companionship.

Since of Covid our band teacher didn’t know what to give us. He just said this will work and handed this to us. Btw our band is a middle school band and I am first trombone that’s in 7th grade. I really like this Piece. I just want to say practice for an hour or two a day and then you’ll be ready for college or high school.
