We love bragging about our little pigeon. She's the heart and soul of the band. Band-Maid is her dream that all other members bought into. With her voice she enjoyed early success but, walked away from it, risking everything in pursuit of her dream.

The lovely singing guitarist is called Miku Kobato. She's also the founder of this band who worked in a real maid café, where the idea of combining this look with hard rocking music was born. As you know from the other comments now, I'm sure, Miku is the woman you asked about. She is the beating heart of Band-Maid. Without her ultimate powers of cuteness behind everything, it not only would all fall apart, but wouldn't have existed in the first place. Trained by Kanami into a killer rhythm guitarist, she does that while singing amazing backup parts, or even takes the role of primary vocalist in a few songs. Since Band-Maid started writing their own material long ago, she's also responsible for most of the lyrics (Saiki writes a few great ones too, like Hate). But what's really non-obvious is that she's also the frontman for the band, performing an absolutely unique MC every show called "Omajinai Time" or magic spell time. The woman is clearly insane in all of the best ways.

Saiki asked Kanami to compose a song that was less taxing on her voice. At the time, Saiki was suffering from vocal polyps and the song was written before she had vocal cord surgery to remove them. Kanami wrote this beautiful rock ballad and fan favorite. The high notes of the song were sung by Kanami's guitar with that solo. I feel it is one of the emotional perfect solos ever written or played.

In on LIVE video they had a laser curtain. The backing vocals and rhythm guitar is BAND-MAID Founder, Miku. She started the who0le thing after working in Maid Cafe's. She found lead guitarist and composer, Kanami. Akane came though her and MISA came through Akane. Lead Vocalist, Saiki was found at their agency. Check out the documentaries by Ohrenge, it will save a lot of research. And check out some of Miku's solo stuff as Cluppo.

An intro to the ladies: Miku Kobato "Little Pigeon" - band founder - rhythm guitar and second vocals. Main lyricist. Claims to be an 810 year old pigeon and makes pigeon noises when she speaks. Po! Very good at poker, really into horses and horse racing. Very clumsy, may fall into ditches. Has the energy of an average nuclear power station mixed with weapons grade cuteness. A comedian onstage - literally! She is the heart and soul of the band. Saiki Atsumi was "The Ice Queen" nowadays just "The Queen" - Lead vocalist and frontwoman. Was very shy in the early years and came across frosty in interviews because of that, hence the nickname - she has thawed out now though! The youngest member at 30. Into train spotting (really)! and collecting trainers (sports shoes). Very girly, is a fashion icon and ex model. Designs a lot of the bands merch. Really into Baseball and the Hanshin Tigers. Don't mess with her you will lose. But she has a heart of gold and a killer dry sense of humour. Recently started writing lyrics. Has final say on songs. Kanami Tono - "Kanamincho" but usually just "Mincho" for short. Lead guitar and an absolute genius songwriter. Total riff machine. Has two personas. Normally a tiny cute shy very polite lady who seems very innocent (the band have to explain dirty jokes to her). Until she puts on her guitar. As the band say: "then she gets quite violent" - she turns into the shredding rock star she is. Takes guitar off, back to the little girl. Likes cakes, coffee and is totally infatuated by Saiki. She adores Saiki very much, to everyone's amusement. Akane Hirose - "The Gorilla" on Drums. Seems to be the sane member of the band, but is actually the band clown. Has an enormous appetite, seen eating in a lot of MV's. Eats a lot of bananas including on stage, hence the nickname. But she is terrible at actual cooking. Usually has a big grin on her face while drumming manically, Akane was also a DJ (under the name DJ Achi) and likes dancing and goofing with MISA. She also plays trombone! MISA (all caps, no last name) "The Barefoot Assassin" on bass. An absolute bass prodigy, MISA is very shy onstage (and a total clown offstage with Akane). Nickname comes from the fact she plays barefoot and looks like an assassin. Because of shyness often drinks onstage, you can often spot a bottle of Jim Beam on her amp. She drinks it neat. Lately drinking more beer than whiskey though, good girl. Doesn't say much, but when she does it's usually totally hilarious! At a lot of concerts you will hear the fans chanting MISA! MISA! MISA! which has become a slogan.

Miku Kobato is the backing singer, although she does have a few songs where she is the lead. Sayonakidori is one where she is lead, and there is an acoustic version too. You've probably have a lot of information about the members through the comments, but one of the most impressive things about Miku is that she never played guitar before the band started and only learned when they decided they needed another guitar for a bigger sound.

BAND-MAID'S Daydreaming = Their most BEAUTIFUL masterpiece! Unfortunately, I think I'm allergic to it because every time I hear it, my eyes start watering! The allergic reaction is even worse with "About Us", the love song to their fans. Although this live performance is AMAZING, don't ignore the MV. It's extremely well done and very powerful. Since you like Miku's singing, I would recommend Sayonakadori live and/or acoustic live version(s). It is my second favorite song by Band-Maid behind Puzzle which is also great live or live acoustic.

Lions , Now you have to do the official MV , its better then the live , in my opinion , that guitar player is Miku Kobato aka Small Pigeon band founder , rhythm guitar , 2nd vocals , lyricist n Boss Pigeon , may I suggest the documentary series by Ohrenje you have to get them from his channel , there's one for each of the band members , starting with , Saiki then Kanami then Akane then MISA then Miku has 3 parts , there all about 30 mins , you can do them as a reaction or watch them yourself , very informative you will learn about each member and how the band came together , but us Maidiac`s like to watch people learn about the band members .
