The Ale solo vocal is one of the most anticipated moments in the show. Literally, the entire crowd turns to watch her sing.

Ale having a turn at the mic is like a brief sighting of a unicorn through a clearing in a forest. You're enchanted ever so briefly, and then suddenly it's over, and wonder how long the wait will be before another another chance will come.🦄👀

@@CraigCholar I can only hope to catch one of those rare times she takes a lead to give Dany a rest. Given that they've retired the QotMS songs from the setlist lately, it does seem unlikely though.

@@scottinokc I think the entire Warning Army would faint if on the next album there's a totally unexpected knock-down-drag-out-take-no-prisoners lead vocal by Ale on a super-bass-heavy song about thunderstorms.

The unicorns of rock: three insanely talented siblings with a supportive family and a brilliant extended family mixing and lighting their concerts. As far as I know the topics of their songs stem more from pure creativity and empathy than from experience. I could, of course, be wrong.... oh and I think one of the advantages of Ale not singing as much is that she gets to prowl the stage.

Choke is a song about feeling overwhelmed by emotional struggles and choosing to face them alone. The lyrics express a desire to fully embrace the pain rather than seek help, with lines like "just let me drown" symbolizing the need to confront and endure the weight of these feelings. It's both a raw depiction of hopelessness and a reflection of inner strength, capturing the tension between surrender and resilience. According to Pau: "Choke is about being so overwhelmed by your feelings that you start to drown on them and choke on them and we really wanted the song to reflect that hopelessness you sometimes feel and just offer it to everyone as a safe place to feel those feelings and just like a place of comfort for them." Dany added " We really wanted to embrace what the lyrics say with the music I think that’s the challenge that we took personally to like even with the riff and everything show the tension of the struggle of that person and we are very proud of the song and we are so happy it’s finally out."

When Ale does a solo... It is always the part that is most "replayed" parts of a video; she not only does back vocals, she does the random high and deep lows as well that work SO well on many songs.

It really concerns any situations in which we feel overwhelmed by circumstances and feel like we are drowning. Ultimately according to Dany it's letting people know that it's normal to feel like this at times and we can get through it. It's not as dire as it sounds. They always have a sense of empowerment and ability to rise above our circumstances. Thanks.

FWIW, I find that a lot of The Warning’s songs are rooted in strong emotions, but they don’t always choose to hit you right in the face. They can be very subtle and satirical when they want to be. And everyone reacts the same way to Ale’s sudden solo vocal in this song. You notice that the whole audience quiets down so they can hear her. She also has some lines in “Hell You Call A Dream,” but they’re easy to miss under the music. There’s a couple fan-cam videos of her taking over a song so Dany can rest her voice, but no full pro-shot songs. There’s an acoustic version of “Money” that they did for WMMR’s Preston and Steve Show in Philadelphia, where Dany needed to rest her voice so Pau sang lead and Ale did the usual backing vocals, as well as Dany’s “Give me that, I want that” chant. My own interpretation of the song is that it’s a criticism of how we often deal with dark or difficult emotions. “Wear your tears like jewelry” is for those who weep and wail, but don’t actually confront what they’re feeling. The bridge lyrics (“Like a machine every day I’m on hold”) are about suppressed emotions. My opinion is strongly influenced by the OMV, which has a woman falling into water and fighting for her life, but when she finally surrenders to the water, she finds that she can swim. So instead of burying your emotions, you embrace them and deal with them, and move on in a healthy way. Yes, it’s painful, and you might feel like you’re drowning, but sometimes the only way out is “through.”

I'm a nearly 70 yr old male and I fell in love with The Warning the first time I heard them (Dust to Dust) 2 months ago. Ale has a WONDERFUL voice, but I understand that she doesn't really doesn't like singing lead unless one of her sisters needs the help. I'll just be patient and take whatever I can! The 6 words in this song were worth the wait!!

Don't know if you reacted to "When I'm Alone" live from the Pepsi Center. An emotional song written by a 15-year-old Dany when she was feeling homesick while away on a 5-week program at Berklee School of Music. Turn on English close caption to understand what she says halfway thru the song as she speaks to the crowd in her native language.

Understanding what they are saying just elevates the reaction experience even higher. 🤘🤘

To me this song is about a toxic relationship where one keeps hurting someone, then crying and getting them back, and the person just wants to be allowed to just "drown" once and for all. "Wear your tears like jewelry, that vice is over-priced", meaning the tears aren't valuable as you think they are. "Stop dunking me (hurting me) and pulling me back in, just let me drown (hurt once and for all, and get over it). These ladies are capable of conveying so much hurt, even though they haven't seemed to have had much hurt themselves.

All the songs off their last two albums feature a lyrics-only video. Some reviewers have listened to a lyric video first, followed by the Official Music Video and/or one of the live performances. Their lyrics really deserve as much attention as their music because they are phenomenal at both. They say almost all their songs start as lyrics, then they figure out the melody on piano, then Warnify it for a three piece band. That's why their arrangements fit the lyrics so perfectly despite being filled with stops, drops, breaks, time changes, key changes, etc. The music sounds easy to play, which also makes it easy to follow, but it is extremely difficult to compose. Making it look easy is very hard to so.

Guitarist Dany: We really wanted to embrace what the lyrics say with the music I think that’s the challenge that we took personally to like even with the riff and everything show the tension of the struggle of that person and we are very proud of the song and we are so happy it’s finally out.

Their lyrics are always extremely deep and thought provoking. Of course we always wait for Ales spotlight. Pepsi Center has a good version of this. Also they do a version in their cave.
