​@@PghTrainFanatic man i totally forgot you replied to my comment my bad man and yeah my first set was a new bright g scale my grandma and late grandpa bought me in christmas of 87 had the remote control with it i loved that train and i found a set just like it back in the summer and i bought it and got it to running and i own 2 lionel trains the pennsylvania flyer 421 and the up 4520 their the small 0 8 0 o gauge but i love em both and im considering buying this 9000 you showed i like that train

You did a fantastic review on this Nick! Great job. She’s one big steam locomotive. That 3rd cylinder underneath it, matching it upon with 6 chuffs per revolution sets it apart from anything else on the rails. Outstanding feature.

This is an awesome engine I had the previous On that Lionel had made around 2002 or so.... but this 1 goes far beyond.. ... It is a Super locomotive The sounds and the way it looks the cab detai I bet it pulls a lot of cars very well!!! Glad you could get such a cool engine for your layout.... Lucky to say I've been able to get some really awesome engines as well that Recently got the Southern Pacific M L4 4000 from 3rd rail And 3rd rail EMC EAA and B unit pair Baltimore Ohio ... These engines are absolutely stunning and beyond What I could imagine Do you have any 3rd rail engines in your collection or Golden Gate depot passenger cars

Is there a volume control on this engine? I did'nt see one on mine, not on tender , but i did'nt really look on engine

They really need another 400+ ohms of current limiting on those marker lights.

DONT HANDLE AN ENGINE LIKE THAT!!! Use a piece of track on a lazy Susan or something. The only places it's ok to structurally handle a steam locomotive without damaging it is the cylinder saddle casting and the rear most part of the cast metal frame behind the draw bar. Handling the engine the way you did in the beginning already bent the firemans side eccentric rod inward as you can see at 1:02 to the right side. It can also break most separately applied plastic detail parts and risk you dropping the model if something isnt fully secured straight from the factory.
