I saw a nature documentary about these Lions eariler this year (2023 for those of you in the future) by the Discovery Channel. It was reposted by someone else on KZbin titled "Brothers in Blood: The Lions of Sabi Sand." I don't think we will ever see any group of animals this savage for a very, very, long time. I plan luxury safaris for a living. I was actually there when these guys ruled the roost. And it is a common misconception that male lions dont hunt. I can tell you stories…even where a female finessed a male out of his kill because she failed in her hunt…so she flirted with him to give up his meal for her. 🤣

@@Trump_Won_AGAIN Really? Wow man. You must be such a massive lion expert to be able take one look at my statement and understand the incredibly intricate social bonds between lions to be able to make your statement. I am not an expert though I have spent about 30 years African bush and have seen some insanely cool things in my life. Like this interaction between a female and her male. You see, when a female gives birth, as you suredly know as such a paramount lion expert, goes apart from the pride to do so. The males may get a bit infantacidy with new born cubs so the mother goes away from the pride to ensure the cubs can grow strong enough to be accepted by the male. So in this case, the mother tried to hunt...because she has to in order to produce milk for her cubs. She failed. And being alone she was kinda up shit creek without a paddle. Her male, doing his job was out patrolling his territory and killed an impala. This happened to be close to where she was trying to hunt. She came across him and his kill, started rubbing up against him in what can only be called flirtatious behavior and he gave up his kill for her. It is hardly common that this type of thing happens, but it does. Lions have incredibly deep and complicated social bonds and what you see on documentaries are usually very watered down versions as to try and explain the full intricacy of a single group of lions would take days and nobody in the West has that type of attention span when watching a documentary.

The Mapogo are my favorite coalition. I literally cannot count the hours I've spent watching videos of them, not about them, just them.. Everything they did was so interesting - the fighting, hunting, their bond. It is such a shame they split up. Everything went downhill from there. One thing about when Kinky Tail died...Mr T actually stayed in the area overnight trying to contact roar him. He knew that the new "owners" of the land were around and he knew that it was unlikely his brother was alive, but he tried throughout the night anyways, putting himself in danger. Just in case he got a call back. Watching Mr T's last fight is wild. He did not give up even when he was partially paralyzed. That's one of the craziest fights I've seen.

I remember binge watching lots of these Mapogo videos many years ago. I came to the conclusion they would have been far better off without Mr T, who was a liability to the coalition. Aside from lots of small issues that caused chaos and wasted efforts early on, in the end it was he who split the coalition and took Kinky Tail off to the eastern territory. He was actually terrible in the fight that killed Kinky Tail, he was the aggressor in defence, charging in, and then fell back and let Kinky Tail fight almost alone, before running away and leaving Kinky to be killed and eaten alive. When he returned to the West the coalition accepted him back after some initial defensiveness, and then he sneakily killed and ate their cubs and tried to be top dog there. He caused chaos and upset the apple cart massively. Without Mr T, the Mapogo would have had far more offspring reach adulthood, offspring who were either killed directly by Mr T, or killed by conquering males who came in because Mr T fractured their defenses. Without Mr T I'm sure they could have held on to what they had for at least another 1 year and allowed many more of their cubs to reach adult hood. But he was greedy and in shooting for the moon all the time he caused them to crash and burn. The icing on the cake, of course, is that even in their glory days, Mr T was just the most brutal and psychopathic (to anthropomorphize terribly, I'm sorry) killer - nearly all killing and violence you see from male lions is hard to watch but you understand why they do it, the evolutionary reason, you can see how it helps them spread their genes. But Mr T had a screw loose, he killed where it didn't benefit him or the coalition. He would kill lionesses, and cubs that were his own kin, and kill young juvenile males instead of driving them out of the pride at that age (which is actually how the male lions are meant to have grandchildren and spread their genes even further)
@LadyBeyondTheWall
@LadyBeyondTheWall 11 ай бұрын
Yeah, even though people will say it's anthropomorphizing animals to think of them like this, it DOES make me wonder about animal psychology. Like.. is it possible he really was just psychotic? lol Like for us, some of our psychology isn't just how we were raised, so I don't know if it would all be down to just being human. Some humans are just born psychotic. And if that's the case, wouldn't it be possible for lions too, maybe? 🤔
@tosgem
@tosgem 11 ай бұрын
@LadyBeyondTheWall i am certain animals can have forms of psychopathy if we consider that in humans often it can be caused by brain damage, tumours etc. Studies of prison populations find far higher numbers of benign brain lesions than in the general population. Damaging parts of the brain can alter perceptions, can cut off parts of the brain that balance out and govern other behaviours. Ex boxers and contact sports athletes have been known to have changed personalities, involved in murders and violence. Mr T was a weird looking lion with a mo-hawk almost in a male pattern baldness shape. There was something wrong with him. Unfortunately his brothers fed him well on buffalo meat and he developed that retard strength. He seemed aggressive and formidable in battle (although, as was the case with kinky tail being killed, he didn't always pull his weight)

I always thought it was weird that Lions were called King of The Jungle. King of The Savannah maybe? But the true King of The Jungle is probably The Bengal Tiger if you ask me. while i agree that lions should be more considered the kings of the savannah. a tiger being slightly bigger and stronger means nothing when you compare a solitary hunter to a one that roams around with an intelligent coordinated murder squad. but if you only want to compare who would win 1 on 1 id say mountain lions take the cake as the strongest and most resilient of the big cats by far, despite still being smaller than tigers. mountain lions need to be built to shrug off the most physical damage on average during their lifetimes due to their preferred terrain have the highest amount of stamina due to all the climbing they need to do and are one of the most agile big cats and they have the absolute strongest bite strength. them fuckers just built different (and despite their name the do sometimes also chill around in jungles if the jungle is on or contains a nice mountain)

The lions of Sabi Sands was one of the best wildlife documentaries i have ever seen. The Mapogo Brothers were absolutely savage. Mr T, Kinky Tail, Scar, Pretty Boy ,Rasta and Makulu were the most ruthless lions i have ever seen. And Mr T died like a true King. He fought 3 lions till his last breath. Brilliant watch.🙏

I’m pretty convinced that Mr. T was drugged by the rangers and that’s why kinky tail was alone to start the fight. When Mr T comes into the fight he’s sluggish and doesn’t attack right away for some reason. These wildlife refuges make a ton of money through tourism and the tourists want to see lions and their cute cubs. Hard to show off cubs when they’re getting killed by the Mapogo’s.

Sir, this is a Wendy's. One thing I will say is to repeat what Dankula has said on this topic. Not the best idea to give the state the power to literally evict people out because they don't like you. Also, its a complete pipe dream. Its a logistical and ethical nightmare. Who goes and who doesn't? Never seem to hear anything about this. Anyone below 50% British DNA? That's stupid. Some guy's evicted because his ancestors came over here 100 years ago or something. What if a guy is descended from the Normans or the Viking invaders, who our ancestors got along with fine for the most part (hell the norf is made of submissive cowardly half breeds with this kind of logic so everyone up there goes) Politically, no party is getting in power with this idea. Nada. The BNP had to tune itself down to get an ounce of relevancy, and once UKIP was a viable alternative, everyone left. The opinion of the British people in the 60s was pretty much the same as today. The closest thing we'll ever get is voluntary, ethical, repatriation. Which is my personal stance, if such becomes necessary.
