Corrections: -The Tiffany stained-glass was a skylight, not a window. Additional Information: -Breeze Knoll, the List family home, was burned down in an arson in 1973 which to this day has never been solved. -Helen's daughter from her first marriage moved out of their house shortly before the List's moved to Michigan. -It is believed John Jr fought back against his father, hence the reason he was shot multiple times. -As another commentor pointed out, the Tiffany glass window itself was likely worth a lot of money and alone might have covered John's debt. -Frank Bender, the forensic artist who created the sculpture which ultimately got List arrested, passed away in 2011 at 70 years-old.

I remember this episode of America's Most Wanted. Especially creepy as I live in the Denver area and my brother once worked at the Holiday Inn where List worked for a while.

I like how the dudes like, I’ll apologize to my family when I go to heaven. I personally am not religious, but I do believe where he’s going is nowhere near heaven😂

Wrong, all he has to do is repent before he dies and he gets to go to fairy land according to that cult

At least John List was eventually found and brought to justice. I looked this case up on Wikipedia and as it turns out, there's quite a few guys who murdered their whole families then completely vanished without a trace. Robert William Fisher, Xavier Dupont de Ligonnès, Bradford Bishop, Elmer Crawford, etc.

Ironically, the Tiffany stained glass sky light in John List's house was worth more than the house itself and could have easily covered his debts. 💁♀️

How much was the appraisal price?

@jesush.christ3003 ...$100,000 in 1971 dollars. Nothing to sneeze at. 😳

As a weird twist, in the mansion, one of the rooms had a tin ceiling worth a million dollars. He could have sold the house for a lot of money ending all his income problems. However, the religious problems would still exist and the outcome would probably be the same.

wow, such a tragic story. sadly a lot of people will zero in on the religous aspect, kind of like Jim Jones. but regardless this was a man who killed his whole family with no remorse. i am a Christian and one day we will all give an account to God. so not sure if he will be in heaven especially since he showed no remorse for what he did. some people are just pure evil regardless. so yeah there is also the commandment thou shall not kill. im guessing he is paying for his crimes and i doubt he will be in heaven. good video, i do sorta remember this story. as always thank you for sharing

The CEILING in the ballroom was TIFFANY ... NOT a window. I love when these new true crime channels pop UP & get half of their facts incorrect.
@MirrorMindYT4 ай бұрын
Yeah, there is a difference between a stained-glass window and a stained-glass skylight. That's my fault as I've always just referred to anything with that kind of design as a "stained-glass window", but there is a distinct difference between the two, so that isn't really grammatically correct on my part. I'll add a note to our corrections, if you find anything else you think may have been an error feel free to point it out. We try our best to be correct and don't mind admitting when we mess up.

@@MirrorMindYT do forgive me for being so blunt ... I was a teen when America's Most Wanted featured this crime.. leading to his arrest. I always found it fascinating. Did you know that List had NO CLUE of the value of the Tiffany ballroom ceiling; an amount that would have more than fixed his financial woes.
