I could never tire of listening to The Doors ❤

Same. LIVE IN DETROIT is something I picked up on cd many years ago (~$30, IIRC). DOORS 13 was my 1st Doors' LP. Have OTHER VOICES on 8-track (dreadful decision of youth). After Morrison, their original LPs landed in the cut-corner bins. Not the debut or LA WOMAN...everything else, though. $1.99 for rest - That's how I built up their catalog in my collection.

Hi Jamie, great to see you in the listening room, lots of good music. Should do more going forward. All the best for Xmas and the new year.

Due to attending the Eindhoven Metal Meeting in the netherlands I relistened to some old favourites and filling in a couple holes discography-wise: Covenant - Nexus Polaris (I'm in the mood for some early 00s Dimmu lately, so this comes just right as rain) Old Man's Child - In the Shades of Life (Very awesome, really looking forward to In Defiance of Existence) Limbonic Art - Moon in the Scorpio (Top tier symphonic Black Metal!) Keep of Kalessin - Through Times of War (Solid, but their later stuff like Reclaim or Armada is actually better) Katatonia - Viva Emptiness & Great Cold Distance (Seeing them live was an experience. I don't vibe to all their albums, but these two and the first four releases are mandatory. Last one was also a pleasant surprise!) Cryptopsy - Blasphemy made flesh & None so vile (Believe it or not, I haven't checked out any Cryptopsy so far and I'm really digging them!) Benediction - Transcend the Rubicon & Bolt Thrower - Those once loyal (Those two bands along with Asphyx which kicked ass in the Netherlands are my go to Death Metal bands and probably my favourite albums from them.) Ensiferum - S/T & Iron (Since they'll go on tour I finally decided to check them out. Iron is pretty good, but their self titled is rightfully one of the most celebrated Folk Metal albums of all time. Abandoned is an absolute goosebump song. Heidevolk - Walhalla Wacht Another Folk / Pagan band - not as convincing as Ensiferum, but there's still good melodies Tyr - Battle Ballads (I missed this one earlier this year, always liked Tyr. Not one of their best, but also not one of their worst. The more extreme leanings of the previous album are completely gone though.) Nocte Obducta - Hammergeddon 666 EP (The last new release this year I anticipated from german quasi-Black Metal institution Nocte Obducta. If you like Darkthrone, Celtic Frost, Venom, Discharge you'll dig the first couple songs, the last one is a 9 minute atmospheric tour de force. Just as convincing as their new album last year - 31 years in the business, their 15th release overall - absolutely one of the greats regarding german underground metal.) Empyrium - A Wintersunset Other than Iron Maiden probably the band which changed my life the most. Tonight I'll be spinning the successor Songs of Moors and Misty Fields for the billionth time. I know these albums like the back of my hand and they still engage me through and through. Seeing them performing live (and standing next to the frontman watching other concerts together... well not quite!) was a dream come true. Bruce Cockburn - Christmas, Bob Dylan - Christmas in the Heart, Arcangello Corelli - Christmas Concerto Opus 6 No. 8 - At long last I'm getting festive!

Big Krokus fan, lead singer Marc Storace has a new album out that I think is better than any of the post 2000 Krokus. Danzig III-How the Gods Kill Frozen Soul- Glacial Domination Incantation-Triennial of Blasphemy Kreator-Terrible Certainty Unleash the Archers-Apex

Great room! Regarding the Tull Christmas set (cds) - I pre-ordered in Oct for a Dec 4th release. Last month, emailed that Dec 20th was the new release...now I see my expected delivery in Feb/March 2025. WTH...I thought nobody liked Christmas music?

Hey if you haven't tried , try Esperanza Spaulding the album Emily's D+Evolution, shes very original and jazzy, different, a bit rocky plus her awesome bass playing and singing. Enjoy the adventure. Really cool vid btw.

I’m not afraid to admit, Dua Lipa is amazing. Check out the Tiny Desk she and her band did over the pandemic. Soooo goooooodddd.

For U.D.O. go find the albums Holy and Mastercutor. Also find the compilation album Metallized for a good mix of his catalog. And for a live album go with Nailed To Metal

I worked in a record store years ago, and bootleg cds were a crap shoot...The best ones came out of Luxembourg..All too often , a recording could be repackageed , and relabled over and over again..I still have hundreds of old bootlegs from back in the day..
