Here, here. Well said! I see where this little boat fills a number of niches. I've got the perfect little flooded mouth river with a decent size lake here in Michigan, this would go great. As to the price, I'm not into a bunch of DIY stuff. I have hardly enough time to go fishing, much less build boats. I'd buy one of these in a minute, and actually might...

Please do a center console build next or a pivoting "console" build (something you can swing around over the gunnel which would include the remote control and gauges and steering)! There's so little of those on YT it would be nice to see your take on those 2 ideas! You're an amazing boat builder

I have been watching TBN since the beginning. It is crazy to think about where you started to now. Promoting the plastic boat. Reminds me of when people said no one will ever own a Glock. Plastic POS. Glock is one of the top selling pistols EVER! So maybe this boat is the next platic POS that will be a top seller. I am interested because I do a lot of small lake fishing. I love my Hobie Outback but I can definitely see where these plastic boats will shine. Great video bro.

@@timlong1462 "lol" it's like you're repeating what's been repeated. WTF does a mini cooper have to do with it 😂. If every boat consumer says the same thing, they should do it. Or as you're suggesting, enlarge a mini cooper. How does dry wall taste?

@@WitchDRofKabul It's hilarious to me that people like you see a small boat who's whole purpose is to be small and go "I want a bigger version of that" that's what I meant by the mini Cooper that is slowly turning into a minivan. It's just comical to me that instead of a consumer purchasing an already existing larger product they want to make the small one big. Drywall is delicious... great insult bud

I just got into fishing 3 month ago and fortunately already own a kayak. It’s great but standing would be awesome and that ability to go right in and out of a truck bed looks wonderful(better than my current roof setup for kayak). One of these is currently my goal for the future if I keep fishing enough. Seems very reasonable to me vs working on anything older/used for the price.

Thanks for doing this video. First time I’m seeing this style of boat and am intrigued. I'm not going to lie, I'm completely jelly about that lite skiff with all it's storage space and stability. But it's freaking heavy, I travel around with a 7.5 ft inflatable boat which weighs in at 39.5 lbs with oars and everything. I can easily put it up on a car roof all by myself or carry it 2-300 yards from the road to the water. I run it together with the eprop spirit plus engine.

The one thing that people always skip over when talking about tiny boats vs kayaks are tournaments. There are so many Kayak tournament options out there. There aren’t as many small boat tournaments out there except slay nation and a few other grass roots level tournaments. While you can enter a normal tournament in a tiny boat, your range isn’t really comparable to a bass boat. But taking tournaments out of the conversation, this boat is great for someone who wants to fish with a buddy comfortably for cheap.
@mkodom885 ай бұрын
I don’t understand why this boat wouldn’t be kayak tournament legal. Today’s high end tournament kayak boats are plastic with electric motors . What makes them different than this? I keep watching kayak bass fishing evolve and it’s not really kayaking anymore . I define kayak fishing as paddling a kayak. I feel like the only reason to buy a kayak now is for tournaments . Otherwise you have this and other better options .

Man… You keep talking about how stable this thing is, but at 10:30 it looks like two people standing up in a tippy canoe. Also discussing that method of launching. You are correct that not many bass/jons can be launched in that manner. But I'm MN there are even fewer ramps that I'd back my WHOLE truck into the water lol. That's the entire purpose of having a trailer. So many ramps end only 10 ft in or there's not any concrete to begin with. Some areas up here with all the moss and algae it's a bad idea to even get the rear wheels in the water. I've got 4x4 and lockers and I don't think I'd want to do what you're doing.

The price is cheap if you like to fish rocky type rivers with current that you don't have time in the day to put in a kayak up stream launch point and float fish to another take out point. You can put this boat in the water and go up stream or down; fish and come back to the launch point quickly. The deep scratches that come from rocks can be plastic welded back or just repaired easily. Maybe someone else may be like me and can't afford and good jet boat with a UHMW boat bottom at the moment but loves to fish rocky shallow rivers. Also that jet boat will need a boat ramp to put in as well. This little boat might be a good choice after all. Anyone else see this as a good boat for shallow rocky rivers?

Even in tiny boats how it will be used and where it will be used along with how deep a persons pockets are still dictate what may work best and at what amount of investment in the platform. A couple of retired seniors that are fishing smaller bodies of water or in areas where traveling distance or dealing with large wakes is not an issue will be better served by one of the pond prowler types of boats with the lifted seats at about 1/4th of the price point for the tiny skiff. Again most of the time us older retired guys are more at a point in life that sitting down crappie fishing beats the heck out of standing all day pounding the edges of cover hunting bass.😁 Even the 12" Prowler 12" jon boat from bass pro shops is only $699. Add in another $1350 for a powerdrive 12v spotlock trolling motor and for two grand you have a capable fishing rig. The only thing you need to do is make a plate to mount that particular trolling motor on the hull. And last but not least a nice used 4-5hp gas outboard can be found at sub $1000 price points so one of these can be totally set up ready to fish in the neighborhood of what the bare tiny skiff hull will set you back. The small really light easy to load and move around plastic boat concept is very attractive for many owners. I think one thing that has fueled the Kayak craze is the ability to forego the trailer and much easier to store than a more traditional boat. Sad thing is even these small plastic boats if you are using even a small trolling motor require registration in most states. My personal opinion I like the lite Skiff concept but honestly I think for a plastic hulled boat it is priced way, way too high. But I also think the same thing about some of the "fishing" kayaks on the market. The plastic Skiff at around a $2000 price point may be more in line for what it actually is a plastic boat with plastic hatch covers. And yes over the last 50 years I have owned everything from the smallest 12 ft jon boat, to 17ft jet drive alum, bass Tracker style bass boats and 21ft glitter go fast bass boats as well so I do have a bit of experience. In all honesty one of the best most versatile fishing boats out of everything I ever owned was a 14ft semi vee jon boat with a front deck and option for a raised fishing seat with a 9.9 for limited hp lakes and I would switch that out with a 25hp for rivers or larger bodies of water and a 24 volt bow mount trolling motor which when I sold it had been upgraded to a gps model . I owned that boat for about 20 years and still regret letting a guy talk me into selling it to him.

It's a neat boat and all, just too high for my taste, now I fish out of an Intex mariner 4 inflatable boat, have been for 7 years now (same boat) ultra portable (fits in the trunk of my car). It can take a 3.5hp motor (44lb max weight), yea not a lot of outboard, but hey I really don't need that much. The weight capacity is where it shines, up to 800 pounds of capacity, I've had it in 3 to 4 foot swells without a drop entering the boat. Only real downsides are you can't use a larger motor, and it does get a pinhole every now and again, Which is easily fixed with a dab of E6000 sealant. I sit on a plano green trunk, that doubles as my junk bin, floor rolls out and is rigid, can stand in it easily. That's a boat u should outfit, an Intex mariner 4!!!!
