Fun Fact: This was the last of Disney's Direct to DVD sequels, and while I can't say they went out with a bang, I still had fun with this. I just wish the villain was Ursula again instead of someone that looks like a mermaid version of her.

I love this movie a lot I like that it explains events that happened in the first movie like how Ariel’s Mother got killed and why her Father hates humans and why Ariel is so curious and Adventurous. Also I love the fact you see more of Ariel Sisters personality’s and them interacting with each other because you hardly see it in the first one 😊 I think it’s a great prequel and I’m glad you enjoyed Tim can’t wait for the next video 😁😃😃😉😉

Same! I honestly didn’t get why people didn’t like this movie. I get some characters feel off, but it did make me like Ariel a lot more (sorry but she was a bit of a brat in the original movie) and I loved getting to see Triton’s story and seeing why he was the way he was. Yes he made mistakes, but it definitely explains why he was so tough on Ariel specifically and how the humans ruined his life by taking his wife away.

Triton's Daughters oldest to youngest Aquata Andrina Arista Attina Adella Alana Ariel There has been some debate on whether Aquata or Attina is older. Attina seems to be the oldest in this movie, but Aquata was listed first in the song "The Daughters of Triton" in the original "The Little Mermaid" movie.

I knew this movie was a prequel to the first movie and surprisingly,the first time I saw the name of the movie,I did'nt think through with the Little Mermaid 3 in my head straight away. I called it The Little Mermaid 1,which is funny because it is technically a prequel. I loved how Ariel meets Flounder for the first time. In French,his name is Polonchon,and it's just so cute.

It was an entertaining film for me as a kid, good animation and voice acting. Today, I see ways in which it could've been better. It was kinda weak when it came to plot and continuity. They changed the sister's birth order (Aquata's the eldest), retconned Ariel & Flounder meeting for the first time, Athena's design and death could've been more detailed. At least they explained what happened to her mother.

The one problem I have with this direct-to-DVD prequel was that Marina Del Ray wasn’t a young version of Ursula. I mean, c’mon Disney. That would’ve made a great origin story for her, making this a great prequel.

what if the reason Ursula and her sister Morgana have become squid is because the evil mermaid that is her mother. And Triton Exiled her as apart of her crimes consequences and her daughter’s due to her crime along with the eels as a SAFTEY precaution of any retaliation.Just like how Simba exiled all of Scar’s followers,cubs and hyenas .😅

I disagree. I actually loved the movie showed her sisters a lot more and showed an actual bond with Ariel, and how their mother’s absence affected their whole family and their distant relationship with their father. Yeah the movie isn’t 100% perfect, but it did explain a lot about why Triton was so strict and hated humans so much in the first movie. Also I actually really adored how much Ariel resembled Athena, perfectly showing why Triton was so tough on her in comparison to her sisters

Great reaction! I found the story to be good and quite similar to an underwater version of Footloose, I still think there could’ve been a lot more depth with Queen Athena‘s death. And Mariana was an OK villain, but it would’ve been much better if she might’ve been like an agent for a Ursula or if we could’ve gotten Ursula, before she was exiled. Maybe they could’ve tied in the idea of her being the one responsible for her Queen Athena’s death. Maybe she could use her dark magic to hypnotize the humans on the ship to crush her. Either way it was still good. I really can’t wait for the live action! 🧜🏻‍♀️🦀🐠🎤🎹🪇🥁🪘🎷🎺🪗🎸🪕🎻🪈🎼💛🩵💚💜❤️

I know this is not everyone’s favorite part of the Little Mermaid lore and I understand why. I do like the the setup with Queen Athena (Ariel’s mother) and the music aspect. However, the fact that Ursula was not part of this origin story was problematic to me, including some other plot points that were changed. I do like what this film tried to do, it just didn’t stick the satisfactory landing though.

The third was l give it ⭐⭐. That we get to see Ariel's and her sisters' mom for the first time and she does resemble Ariel alot and we also find out what happened to her. And to thats why Triton hates humans. Also it is surprising that Ursula was not in the TLM sequel presequel because she is part of the main TLM franchise and stories etc. This Marina Del Rey is a lame villain and does look like Ursula as a mermaid in which i thought it was a young Ursula because on the poster their was an eel beside her. And it's probably likely this is when Triton banished Ursula when Ariel was born and before her mom came i don't know its confusing. Marina is not quite a villain unlike like Ursula and Morgana. Because Ursula wanted Triton's throne, Marina did not she only wanted Sebastian's job. And Morgana wanted Triton's throne and avenge and be better than Ursula. Also Flounder is annoying as ever scatting all the time. Triton is ridiculously strict as ever and still has a hot boiling temper.

This movie is ok. The animation is pretty, Ariel's siters are developped and charming, the music is sweet BUT there's two things i don't like. The villain and Sebastian as a narrator. What he says is useless, we can easily see the situation and emotions of the characters. Marina is boring, can't sing well and her motivation is weak. All she wants is to stole Sebastian's job. Not taking the throne and killing the king, not putting the princesses in jail. Her design is fine but compare to Ursula and Morgana, she's nothing 😂
