You are watching "The Little Mermaid", an animated musical story recreated by The Teolets. The story teaches children that there's no dream too big or too small. The Little Mermaid's dream was to experience freedom and explore the human world. She was fascinated by it and wanted to break free from her normal daily routine in the Kingdom. Aside from the mistakes and challenges she went through, she still achieved her goal and got to explore the human world. The lesson here is that if we were to give up during challenges, we would never reach our dreams. But if you try your best, you can succeed.
Story:
‘The Little Mermaid’ (1837) is one of the most layered and fascinating fairy tales written by Hans Christian Andersen. Deep down at the bottom of the sea live the mermen and mermaids. The daughters of Triton, the Sea God are all intrigued by the world beyond the sea, but the youngest daughter - the little mermaid of the story’s title - is more interested in the world above the sea than her other sisters. When the little mermaid goes up to the surface one day, she notices a ship, which contains royalty. The people on board are celebrating the birthday of a handsome prince. The little mermaid is instantly attracted to him. There is a storm, and the ship sinks. The little mermaid rescues him and takes him to the shore. The mermaid sinks back under the water, with the prince entirely unaware of her existence, or that she has saved his life. But the little mermaid realizes that she could give anything to be able to have legs and make friends with the Prince. So, she goes to visit the one woman who might help her: the sea witch. The sea witch says she will make the little mermaid a potion which the mermaid must take onto land with her and drink. It will turn her fish’s tail into two human legs, and she will not be able to transform back into a mermaid again. If the handsome prince will not marry her, she will die and become foam upon the water the day the prince marries another. The Sea Witch tricks the mermaid by taking away her voice and approaches the Prince as his saviour after the sink had sunk. The mermaid is afraid of what the witch will do to the prince and hatches a plan with her sisters to destroy and capture the witch. She releases all the trapped souls from the witch's lair and breaks all the spells, causing her own voice to return and the prince recognizes her as his true saviour. The witch gets captured and jailed by Triton and the mermaid lives happily with her new friend in the palace above the sea as a human.
