Eric's song, "Her Voice" was so beautiful. Why is that it was never an official song for him in the film version, or the fact that they couldn't find a singing voice for him in the film back then, I'll never know.

It's my favorite song they added for the stage. The creators of the TLM said Eric's song would have slowed down the pacing of the film (and I think they were right). :) But it's a gorgeous addition on Broadway.

The guy playing Eric here is called Sean Palmer. I love those songs - She's In Love and Her Voice! If you haven't bought The Little Mermaid Boradway Musical CD with the original cast - I strongly advise you to get it!

Both Cody Hanford and J.J. Singleton were the original Flounder, but had to leave the show shortly after opening because they had grown taller than Sierra Boggess. Trevor Braun and Brian D'Addario replaced them. D'Addario was the vocalist on the original cast recording and performed on the show's opening night.

@d0initsimple Pre Broadway is more of a trial ... to see how people react to the show, maybe things they need to change, just an overall Trial ... like a tryout ... if that makes sense then they after that amount of time they will end the trial, and then the director the composer and costume designer, lyricist (creative team) look it over for about a month or two and make any changes they think might be necessary to the show. then will hopefully open on broadway succesfully!!

@d0initsimple well first of all this was filmed in Denver (if I recall well). Plus there are a few differences between this show and broadway. If I understood well, pre-broadway was kind of a try, to see if people would like the show or if they should cancel it.

@d0initsimple The real difference in a pre-broadway run and a broadway run is that the Pre is like a try out to see what works and what doesn't. How the audience reacts to certain jokes or songs. To tweak the show so that it's the best it can be before it gets to New York. In this show in perticular they changed the lyrics of 1 or 2 songs, added another boy to play flounder and reworked the transformation sequence.
