I think people miss the point of the Barrera fight. Hamed would never have beaten him, years before or not. Barrera had too much. He had a plan A, B, and C. He only boxed Hamed because they all thought he was going to brawl, which is his main style but he can box brilliantly too. When he did this it threw Hamed off completely and he didn't know what to do. He needed Barrera to come to him to win. Too many skills, mental and physical. He just met a better fighter. Marquez/Morales would also win.

His punches are so inaccurate and messy. He is also leaving himself wide open to the counter by the way he is lunging in, which is what happened in the fight. The Naseem of about 3 years prior to this fight would have beated Barrera, but by this time he had obviously stopped training properly and surrounding himself with a bunch of yes men.( apart from Manny Steward who told him like it was ).
