When we've sinned that is when we need to remember how much we are loved by God. No need for pride, self pity and worry if we sin. We say sorry to God and we leave it all with God. We are not less loved by God when we sin - we are loved by God's merciful love.

Hi, thank you for this talk. You mentioned different editions, and that some had things edited out. I have the tan classics edition, edited by Mother Agnes of Jesus and translated by Michael Day. On p147, about 60% of the way through Chapter 10 'the way of love', it mentions the incident with the sister who was making noise. It mentions fidgeting and a rosary, but nothing (on that page) about grinding teeth. This omission doesn't seem like a major issue to me, but I wonder if there are more serious omissions. Do you know this edition, what do you think of it, and what are the best editions in your opinion? Many thanks.

Hi Daniel. You are using the old/original edition, which is fine but misses one or two details because Mother Agnes edited the manuscript in a few places. So at some time it's worth getting a newer translation. Here is one: Story of a Soul: The Autobiography of St. Therese of Lisieux edited by John Clarke, or Story of a Soul: Study Edition Edited by Marc Foley, or The Complete Therese of Lisieux (Paraclete Giants) translated by Robert Edmondson.
