Thanks, man, your 8bit Warps demo is my go-to for getting sorted on Sonicware's joints. REALLY digging what you're doing in these tutorial/review synths, nice, quick, and to the point. Keep on doing whatcha do!

1.4 note measure gets 16 bars of 4 counts but it’s slower but great for slower bass or strings grooves. But those wave tables locked in the sequencer will give several basslines on each steps. I have the xfm and worps. Just contemplating getting this too. Aha. Nice demo man. 👍

Welcome. Have you ever used a Roland R8? I can remember getting so familiar with that drum machine that I could build and record a tune "live", with drum rolls and pitch shifts - I think it had that... anyway. And also a Dr Rythym 660. Memories!

Is there more than 2 parts then. I hear the bassline and beats and also a chord pad and string plug if so can they be played melodically as well.
@Woochia7 ай бұрын
It's only 2 parts, but you can automate the sound you use for every step, so it could be bass on step 1, lead on steps 2 and 3, etc. Some of the presets are very cleverly made though to give the illusion of even more instruments

@@Woochia that’s good to know thanks 😊

Do you recommend buying this over the Volca Bass (just for bass)?
@Woochia11 ай бұрын
Well, it's 2 different things. The volca bass is simple to use but does only one thing: some TB-303-style basslines. If you like acid techno or acid house, it's cool for acid lines. The liven bass and beats is a bit more complicated, but you can design basses a lot more with it. You can select which parameters you attach to the macros in the performance mode. It's more versatile but the learning curve is steeper

so if something has drums + something else is it a groovebox?
@aplusimagery5271 Жыл бұрын
Yes
@Woochia Жыл бұрын
Pretty much yes. If a machine has several tracks and one of them is drums, that allows you to build a song, so that's a groovebox

Thank you for this video , I bought the Lofi 12 & this at same time a few days ago and as someone who is not super experienced I’ll take the bass & beats hands down The Lofi 12 has me utterly lost and confused and no video has helped lol , B.A.S.S. & beats I made 2 sick flows on tonight in 30 minutes first time ever picking the thing up Considering returning the Lofi for sure
@Woochia Жыл бұрын
I find what you say quite funny as I found the Lofi-12 a lot simpler to use x) but I guess that's mostly how each person use each machine, matter of feeling ^^

Can it save tracks for live playback? Like if I wanted to use this as drums and bass and I play guitar…
@Woochia11 ай бұрын
It has a line input, but I don't think this one can actually record. You can use it as a mixer to have a bass, a drum and another instrument, but I don't think you can use it as a sampler to record loops with the external instrument.

I can't seem to get audio out of the headphone jack to my audio interface?
@Woochia Жыл бұрын
Do you have audio if you plug a headphone or only when you plug it in your audio interface ?
@enslavedbyvegetables3407 Жыл бұрын
I got to tell you. I’m more confused with this one than I one with the X FM. I’m literally following step-by-step what you’re doing and I am not getting the same results lol.

That's a reminder I need to make my complete tutorial. I have several synth reviews planned, among them are the livens I haven't tutorials for

No, you're a "ducking knob." ;) But seriously, thanks for this great walkthrough. Maybe the Liven Bass & Beats isn't as scary as I first thought. Time to get it out its packaging and give it a second chance.

@Marx Man So...reading between the lines, diving deep for subtext and sensing those super subliminals, I get the merest hint of an impression that you're not a fan?
@Woochia2 жыл бұрын
@Marx Man: The manual is indeed daunting. Very technical, and not always easy to read. But I think that once you know the machine, you can play around very well. And for the live set, I would prepare the set a lot before going on stage with it. I find myself pausing a lot to create a sound and patterns. But when the song is prepared, it's fun to play with it.
