Before the game I thought Villa would get thumped with six first team players out. Very fair video. Arsenal looked very good in the first half and deserve a trophy this season. Trouble is with the depth of squad that Man City have it looks like they are going to win the league again. It's been a great season for Villa. Unai came to Arsenal at the wrong time but he's perfect for Villa. We feel very lucky to have him.

@@makei89nah you’re spot on. Rice cannot be the only workhorse to foot majority of the defensive responsibility. That’s just asking way too much of the man. Odegaards got good defensive work rate too but we need to lessen his defensive responsibilities so he can play in a more advanced role in our midfield. Jorginho is a luxury player to have in possession but out of possession he’s just dead weight. So yah that midfield needs some serious reinforcement.

Credit for giving Villa the respect as Arsenal played well in the first half. Villa kept it tight and played with bravery out from the back and beat Arsenal’s press and just played through it. This is what I can't stand. Yes Emery is a good manager but when he was our manager he was terrible. Why on earth can't you admit it - he was shocking, blew a 4th place when the fixtures were so easy as they were against lower mid table teams - NOT in relegation battles. Players in wrong positions. Did NOT make enough effort to learn the language and properly communicate with them and abysmally did not even compete against Chelsea in Baku. He was utter rubbish and the sooner you lot get your rose tinted spectacles back in your cases the better. Christ

Arsenal had 48hours more rest time than Villa, so fatigue shouldn’t be an excuse. Maybe the lineup and Havertz in midfield was the issue? Should have kept with the winning formula? Also Emery made adjustments in the second half and Arteta wasn’t quick enough to counter. Also Arsenal had every one available bar Timber and maybe he wanted to fit every one in? Ohwell, keep positive and let’s hope Arsenal can bounce back against Bayern!

Tbh it’s easy to blame Zinny, he’s not perfect vs top wingers - nor is Kiwor - but does help move the game forward. The biggest culprit was the finishing, Arteta out managed himself .. Merson was right, why change .. and then Sky flashed up our win record with Jesus (60%) vs Havertz (80%) starting as a No9! Isak, 2nd Waktins have to be our priority in the summer.. we cannot survive with just another wide player!
