1:32 Lux' healthy lifestyle journey since 2012 and the diet that goes with it 3:34 Adam talks about the importance of being mentally stimulated and pushing yourself to better yourself 6:01 Discipline yourself to enjoy the learning process of what you want to touch 7:52 The hunger of being an elite battle rapper and hunger in life in general 9:30 Adam compares a comedian prep for a special to a battle rapper who keeps his best punchline for a battle 10:19 Snatching souls out of your all entourage: "I live for that" 11:01 Adam breaks down how battle rappers fight to own the entire room 11:45 Lux says always being in tuned and wanting to do better is key 12:42 S/O Unkassa 13:40 Lux has an over active brain 14:46 Adam says battle rappers are the best people to talk to 15:12 Lux explains why battle rappers are the best people to talk to 16:52 Lux explains how he preps his brain to battle 18:47 Adam asks about the level of confidence required to be a battle rapper 19:09 Lux breaks down how to use strength and vulnerability and getting in your truth 20:25 Every battle is another level of truth 21:33 Adam asks how a battle rapper gauges between battling and being an absolute asshole 22:14 Lux explains that you can go in and hurt without being crass 23:50 Adam uses Trump debate as the perfect example of what not to do 25:06 Watching greatness and understanding what it takes to get there 26:11 Lux talks about having outta body experience when he performs on stage 26:52 Lux on the major influence of his Dad 29:15 Despite Lux' Dad being busy the time they spend together was always valuable 30:35 How Lux Dad taught him principles of how to handle yourself in the world and be confident 32:07 Teaching your kids how to be your own person 32:48 Lux was the kid in the corner doing his own thing always 34:20 Nowadays you could find a common interest even if your passion is looked at "outside the box" 36:17 Life before social media 39:37 Adam points out the evolution of battle rap and parallel with BMX 40:44 "We used to be outside to be outside" 41:42 Lux says doing things for the likes is detrimental to the actual art 43:10 How IG changed human behavior and spontaneity in relationships, posting a photo with a celeb vs with your childhood friend 44:27 Lux says keep reminding yourself why you're doing certain things 46:31 Lux always wants to reach new level of greatness for every battle: "If there's no growth I don't want t do it" 49:05 Lux used to battle out of hunger, cypher everywhere for crumbs 50:35 Was Lux seeing the future at all when he started battle rap? 51:01 Lux wanted to get his props from being one of the best, that's it 52:34 Some epic battles haven't been documented 53:26 Graffiti artists are possibly the most art driven creators: acting in the dark, can't flex your work, can't get caught or take credit for it, only your work prevails 54:29 Interestingly enough, Lux father used to be a graffiti artist 55:05 To be fully about your art you somehow have to be a bad business man 56:01 Adam uses the Nas example, where art is more important than branding 58:05 Lux on the whole drill movement and how we went from lyrics driven culture to anyone rappin the same with less substance 58:52 Lux explains why drill is popular 59:56 The instant gratification killed the journey + Being successful in your 30s should be normalized vs overnight success 1:00:43 Giving praise at a certain level prevent someone from being great they just plateau 1:02:00 Adam says there's no more underground scene coz label snatch anyone with a look and manage your entire career 1:09:40 How meditation works 1:11:50 The phone actually pulls you away from your brain to take a break 1:13:15 The art of podcasting and having in depth convo outside of the podcast is now challenging 1:13:55 Lux quotes this comedian who asks himself if he has time to spend time to do different things 1:15:20 People don't care about the journey anymore and don't take the time to do whats good for them same way they only love the punchlines in battle rap 1:17:05 Lux on throwin away punchlines that would've been a hit but not good for him 1:19:08 Lux is not catering to the crowd so much anymore, he just wants to be free and his truth 1:19:38 What qualifies hip hop nowadays according to the criteria and the charts 1:21:19 Lux gives his take on the current rap 1:22:16 Hip hop is now reduced to what you look like as opposed to the actual act of rapping 1:23:50 Speaking your truth in the 90s vs now, you are now called a hater when the norm was to point out what was wack before 1:24:23 Having an opinion vs being a hater 1:24:45 How to speak your opinion vs someone telling you how much it sold 1:26:02 Numbers are not always real, views are modified etc, we don't know what's real 1:28:33 Lux says preserve art preserve hip hop 1:30:08 The urger of always being on the phone vs being in the moment 1:30:44 Thoughts on the Joe Budden podcast 1:32:58 Upcoming battle with Daylyt, a book coming soon as well
