Every part of Northern Ireland has tractor runs for charity throughout the year giving up their time...all get together and use their time, scarce as it is, to put up a show of unity for themselves, show the public exactly how strong and important the farming industry is

the harsh truth is that tesco and their ilk detest smaller farmers and abhore the fact that a farmer can take his livestock to an open market and sell it freely without contract

Excellent piece, bottom line is the world economy forum, the un and the eu are in full control, this was coming regardless of who was in power, but now there is great hope since Trump and Bobby Kennedy have arrived, they are going to show the world what has been going on, and we will all be in the better of it! Best of luck to all our farming neighbours, United we stand! Love from Cork,🇮🇪🇬🇧🇺🇸

I will pay a premium for local quality food all day every day! This tax shouldnt be on generational farmers, it should apply to the wealthy farms that were bought and sold for the purpose of tax avoidance only! How you differentiate between those is diiifficult.

The trouble with planning succession is the huge unpredictability of Death. My wife's Uncle is still farming at 87 , never married, lives in the house he was born in. Unfortunately very unexpectly his great Nephew died aged 35 from a heart attack. If the farm had been handed to him it could have been disaterous. My Dad is 91 and out lived all his 5 brothers. Good luck to everyone.

I don’t think the public care, think about the last time you were shopping and people were looking at where their food comes from.
@VelEire_Ай бұрын
The public doesn’t care they can’t see further than next weeks shopping farmers are only moaners for thinking of the next generations viability in producing food for the shelf at a reasonable price. City folk will be moaning when the shelf is empty those farms are rewilded or solar covered and they’re stuck 3d printing their “food” (look at Australia they’re already advertising it)

In Ireland the figures for waterway polution is always blamed on Farmers and local athorities, combined. No farmer is going to take their fertiliser or slury and let it wash into a river, ITS TOO VALUABLE. First job for PR vampaine is to break down those figures.

instead of farmers purchasing tractors and machinery would it be better to have it on hire purchase then you don't actually own it so they wouldn't be able to tax you on things you don't own . that nice massey fergusson tractor that andrew has on his farm probably cost near to 200k there would be a lot of tax to pay on that . i think many companys like delivery company's with vans and lorrys long term hire there vehicles these days so maybe farmers and contractors will be going down that route as well on the big equipment

It's massive the red death! Starlin, mau, etc. No one should pay inheritance tax. When you look into solar its terrible, in that you it's not really recyclable, produces the last electric when you need the most. Battery storage would be colossal and involves child, slave labour. Ask these promises of cheap electric and it's just getting more expensive! Wind power is killing marine life because of the vibrations they cause, plus the blades kill birds and they're they're taking s massive amount of copper etc because of where they're placed.
@brianferguson7840Ай бұрын
One thing farmers are definitely not talking about is, the fact that the reason more farmers are exposed to this tax change than previously thought is,,,, Because for decades farmers have been falsely declaring the value of their assets in order to avoid tax and increase subsidies. Oh the irony, farmer's "chickens coming home to roost"

Surely, there's an easier way to give a tax relief to the cash rich corporate businessmen rather than having them purchase fast amounts of farm land. Incentive them to reinvest in sectors that will improve people's health or something like that.
