The King of The Flying Vocal Crescendo. I sing Roy's songs in K-clubs everywhere, whenever I get the chance, Laughlin, Vegas, wherever. What a beautiful operatic voice to aspire to. I just can't get enough of singing Roy Orbison songs. RIP Roy.

My goodness the the Roy Orbison performance and full orchestra treatment is phenomenal . What a find.! These would be the US TV Colour Tests .. They got it as The New Palladium Show on NBC. UK had black & White until the dire 1974 revived season in Colour.

No, UK got colour in 1967 on BBC2. BBC1 and ITV got colour in 1969.

Mm Im told that this rare, early colour Palladium shoot was due to Lew Grade. He brought over in a container, from the US, some colour 525 / NTSC cameras and had them side by side with his own ATV B+W, 405 line units, filming this particular edition. Great!!

None of that abc uk did a test on 405 line colour to save money on new transmitters ...it was deemed a failure...

They loved our royal family and this was, indeed, nerve racking. But Roy delivered, as ever. Held in such high esteem in the UK, which he really appreciated. Unquestionably one of the greatest singers of all time.
