All about the im350 for me. Yes they require more maintenance and they're not as powerful as the battery nailers but the extra 1.5/2kg weight saving is irreplaceable when you're throwing them around all day. Until the battery guns are in the 3kg range I'm not interested.

Yeah I found in snow country where you get daily -5 or -15's overnight in AUS the gas framers just don't work well, (same in the states, especially norther us, that's why paslode isn't popular) but pneumatic work well in those climates, that's just my opinion, but keen to see how these battery nailers go in the winters.

I used it a couple of months ago and my impressions were exactly the same as yours. Weight wise is out for me, I’m happy with my Paslode framer. On the other hand let’s see the Makita finishing nailer because the Paslode that I have jams far too often and usually at the worst times. A bit of extra swearing, I didn’t mind this was one of your most entertaining and funny videos so far. Don’t quit just yet Tools, what about the table saw, you got to comeback for that one Shirley. I was excited for a good Makita framing review. I'm waiting to see which powerbase I really invest into for the first time and have a couple Makita items already but, after watching this, I'm more sold on Rigid than any others. In terms of the overlap of most desirable features: Rigid is lighter than Makita and Milwaukee, it sits flat standing up, self-serviced, has auto on off sense (which I've never seen before this video, - thank you for that), good ergonomics, AND appeared to burn the rest on the speed test. Definitely subscribing to this channel. Top notch info. Sincerely, a broke apprentice.

I'm another Makita guy, but I bought the Hikoki nail gun system a few years ago, when I replaced my roof and gables. At that time, Hikoki battery nail guns were way ahead of the competition and Makita were not even in the race regaurding framing guns. Upon this review, I still remain satisfied that my Hikoki nail guns are up there with the best. My only disappointment is now i am running two different battery platforms, rather than just one. What took Makita so long to catch up ?
@Manbearpiet5 күн бұрын
If it would perform less than the hikoki one, would you consider it? I guess they want you to get the Makita one, not only because it's on the same platform, but it should be up there with the top.
@CamperKev5 күн бұрын
@@Manbearpiet Hypothetically, I guess it would depend how much less. In reality, the Makita looks good enough for me, but too late. I'm happy with the Hikoki guns now and what is done, is done. 👍🏻

Don’t get sucked into the one battery system hype, if you owned a paslode that’s gas and battery that does nothing else. Especially if it comes in its own case . Can’t believe the Makita s heavier…. I’ll weigh my dewalt one tomorrow but pretty sure it’s lighter than hikoki.
@onikwa4 күн бұрын
What took so long? It's that Japan doesn't allow the sale of nail guns over a certain gauge, and Makita as a company is too slow and unwieldy to react to needs in other markets. Vs. Hikoki/Hitachi/Metabo HPT while being a Japanese based company as well, has been making specific tools for specific markets for quite some time now. Everyone else is outside Japan where nail guns can be sold whenever to whomever.

As much as I love my Makita tools , I'm still not convinced I would ever buy one of these over a Paslode. Have used a Hikoki before framer and thought it was just too cumbersome. With this thing weighing even more by some margin..... its a real let down. Great review by the way.
@clarkdef2 күн бұрын
The good thing about Makita is when you want to fix the tool, it's a lot less expensive, you can buy a switch separately, with all these other brands the switches are attached to the controllers and stators which means the tool is not worth the money to repair if one simple thing goes on it.
@Gorrdolph5 күн бұрын
Im a BIG makita fan i love your Makita videos. But does she work in -20°c because here in Finland in winter its cold and the Hikoki does not like the cold. So in my opinion the Paslode im90xi is the best nailgun on the market it works when its hot and cold outside.

Thanks for the review and the comparison Tools. I have to say I’m a little disappointed by Makita. I have the Hikoki for a while now and I have been waiting for this tool for a long time. Unfortunately Makita didn’t take the insane amount of extra time they had to blow the competition out of the water by making a better tool than the others did. The weight is inexcusable and keeps me from buying it. My tools are 95% XGT nowadays. I hope they come out all guns blazing for the that version, but we all know that’s not gonna happen. It will be largely the same tool but for a different battery platform. I love the XGT sanders and saws by the way. They are head and shoulders above their predecessors.
