The Long Dark Railroad before the quiet Apocalypse - Video 2/3

This a video of a train running on my updated Layout based on the Great Bear Trans Island Railway found in the "Long Dark" survival game.
In the update too the layout I added more detail along the length of the line, and more detail to the Port town & at the top end, adding a landslide with abandoned train.
This Video starts at the Port, climbs up the valley in a loop, emerging through the tunnel in the Coastal Highway Region. Through 2 more tunnels and crossing the Ravine region Curved Trestel Bridge, it emerges at the abandoned Carter Hydro Dam. It travels through the Forests of Mystery Lake, and then crosses the bleak Forlorn Muskeg region. Through the last tunnel into the mountain passes of Broken Railroad, before crossing the bridge and on to the end of the line at the High Falls Logging Camp.
Both games are great fun, thanks again to Franks for creating Rolling line, a great model railway creator and to Hinterland for the Long Dark survival game and parts of its soundtrack I used.

OH MY GOD, this is incredible, its almost 1:1 scale, and yet, its so accurate. And extensions at the start and at the end are fit with environment. Good job 👍

I plan too. I have modelled all the way to the Vale station in the Far side Territory. Now the new mine region is out, I need to start work on that. Then I might do another vid along the full length of the track.

oye, here i am watching this thinking... second bridge, cave to the right... fallen tree bridge, cave to the left... powerplant, rifle change under the bridge, moose spawn acrsoss, log sorting, first watch tower... deraliment 2nd watch tower, chances for food cash or weapons cash... LOL

I imagined a few earthquakes and the odd derailment leading up to the last day when the geomagnetic storm hit. In game Milton was mostly abandoned before the Apocalypse, so the collapse had already begun….

I created in a games called “Rolling Line”. It’s a model railway layout building game. I think I took it to the extreme! if you fancy driving the train you can buy/download it from steam, search the workshop for my layout and your good to go. Thanks.

I have nearly finished adding the far range branch line all the way to the Vale station to the layout and am almost ready to release it on Rolling line for the community to play. I may do another video of the full line soon. Glad you enjoyed it 👍

Make it a reality….are you from Hinterland? 😀 To be fair it is a reality! I modelled in in Rolling line. If anyone wants to drive the line, buy Rolling line on Steam, subscribe to my layout from the Steam Workshop and you can. Drive in any weather, day or night, cab view or free camera, it is, although I say it myself, awesome.

Haha no not from Hinterland, but from a team of modders that are focused on creating grounded regions that fit seamlessly into the base TLD game. I have posted some DevBlogs over on the Hinterland Forums if you would like to see what we have been up to: hinterlandforums.com/forums/topic/40861-the-long-development-dev-log-november-2021-modded-custom-regions/ I should have clarified more, when I said 'make it a reality' I meant *potentially adding it as a brand new region. Our team of modders has long thought that a port region would fit perfectly in the world of TLD and since you already have a layout created, I thought it would be fun to reach out and toy around with the idea of your port region making its appearance in game, though our mod. Let me know what you think!
