I love how the librarian commentates so much in the way of immersion. When he finishes a crazy find, once he has a moment, he tries to fit every event together to make a story. It really elaborates on his name, “The Librarian.”

A tip for you: if you don't want objects to move around or get ejected from your car, you can lock the physics in the Misc (I think) section on the Config menu. It's really useful to prevent losing your items and to prevent physics bugs. Trust me, you don't want to have your only gas can getting ejected to the moon after the physics decide to break for no reason. And break the wood boxes. They contain loot. And don't forget to look at your rear view mirror while zooming (right click). There's a bug in the game that allows you to fly. Take your binocular, press tab and then start pressing space. It's extremely useful for some situations.

... Oh also, if you tap Q, you go into mouse lean mode on foot. For some reason you can mousewheel crouch way deeper than normal, and you possess enough superhuman strength to even slowly stand up and tip over a car from underneath it. Holding Q allows you to enter Free-look with your head, even in Lean mode. Free-Look is very useful when attaching stuff because it detaches your cursor from the item you're holding. And while Lean mode is engaged if you're tipping a car, you can still use Freelook to better aim up at said car to push it using F: That was the very last tip!

If I am not mistaken the wire brush was directly next to the sponge in the first haunted mansion. You were basically looking at it while talking about it. Then left it right there. Thats actually something I noticed, you leave A LOT of stuff that could be very useful just lying there. Like at around 1:43:00, you had a complete car, and even continuing to use your car, which I get, you did nothing with that. You could have pulled that thing apart and taken so many parts from it, especially with the trailer you have the space for it. The smoke by the way was probably the breaks after breaking really hard. Thats something you may want to look into, if you can change those to better ones. And if you have not noticed, the genie lamp seems to be a light source when you rub it, really useful as it seems to be non directional, lighting up the surroundings in all directions and can be left in a place to light that up.
@vendybirdsvadl74729 ай бұрын
according to the wiki, the smoke coming from the front of the car actually might be steam coming from the engine which i wouldnt be surpised considering he upgraded it from 4i to V8 (not to mention the "check oil" indicator light at the end of the video)
@xj12949 ай бұрын
Its defo the engine overheating (can see it red in the dashboard and has a boiling noise) also dont think the coolant was upgraded throughout the playthrough so could be why

@Mana-Chann9 ай бұрын
Just a tip. If you can find steel brush and a sponge, you can clean vehicle parts with it. Steel brush for removing the rust then polishing it with the sponge. You can change various vehicle parts, including the engine. You can either have a diesel car or a petrol truck/bus. In my playthrough, diesel is much more easy to find than gas. If you find a bus with engine with it. You can swap the engine, tho you also need to empty the petrol tank for you to use the diesel engine. In my experience, the most stable vehicle is the one that looks like a VW Golf. And if you want to carry much stuff, use the flatbed truck. Attaching basket to the vehicle makes it a bit slow and every basket stacks-up. Pulling wagons also makes the vehicle slow. I've found it the very hard way. Climbing a very steep hill is very very hard. You can swap tires depending on your preferences. I like the white wall tires, its a bit bigger than the ordinary tires. Say the ordinary tires are the small one, the white wall is the medium and bus tires are the large one. But be warned if youll use the bus tires, im not sure but its not really that stable. It bounces alot, like alot. For better engine cooling, you can also swap the radiator. I find the 10L radiator great but if you can find the 20L, the better. Im not really sure the bigger the radiator is the better. Im just basing my claims to my playthrough with is about 4000Km. Im pretty sure alot of you have more than that, but meeeeeh. Thats my playthrough. Im also not sure if the tire quality affects the car handling. I always try to find new tires and swap it to what I have, though the quality of the tire never deteriorates, so 4pcs of new tires is already good enough. You can check if the tires are a new one if the thread and the name of the tires can be seen well.

Hey librarian. You’ve helped me through a tough time lately just.. having such a comforting voice to listen to. I hope this finds you well enough: you’ve got a storytelling voice I can only hope to mimic. And, your tale of the Devil car whipped me back in time. There’s a old creepypasta I listened to on KZbin, called “my voice stopped echoing,” or something cheesy like that. Might’ve been CreepypastaJR or something like that. But it was a really well put together story, along the lines of “the devil likes a chase, he hates easy prey” you mentioned, about a boy going fishing with his grandpa, and his voice stopping echoing. As the horror bears down on them in the country side, as the rickety old Volkswagen passes 150, the line that stuck out to me most was the grandpa commenting on his wife who was gone. “C…cars are a lot faster now, boy, maybe I can still save…” And his voice goes. It’s such a raw line, the idea of a grandad desperately struggling to prevent the fate he already knew, as this unknown cosmic entities speeds alongside them.

In my very honest opinion. This game is a lazy type of game. It doesnt have any real objective to the game other than to drive. Hence the name of the game. The long drive. How can I put it. If you know the game Raft, think this game of raft but not doing anything other than riding the raft and going with the flow. You can catch fish and filter the sea water to survive but thats it. TLD(as other call it) is that. Game is still on its early access. I watched a gameplay of Let's game it out and I decided to try to for myself, just for fun, no real intention. I played the game before I went to bed just to relax myself. If ill rate the game, ill give it 3/10. Why? Like I said, its a lazy game. The entire premise of the game is to drive, like really long drive without any headings. Your only problem is the food and fuel. Yes, theres a bit of exploration, but like....I dont know, maybe 5mins max of exploration of an abandoned house/diner and was it church? And thats for your exploration. I got bored playing the game because it really doesnt have anything to do other than to drive and try to survive. Is it worth playing? If youre the type that plays a game with a substance(e.i story/plot/objectives), this is not the game for you. Like I said, its a lazy game. If you dont have any much to do and just wants to kill some time and relax, yes. But there are better games than this. If this game piqued your interests, go and play the game. Edit: Thats my very honest opinion and thoughts about this game.

14:33 No, it does make sense. That dark spot is called a "donut hole" and is the effect of a light source using an inappropriate reflector. If you own a Maglite flashlight, twist the head until the beam is as wide as possible, and boom, donut hole in the centre. It's common in old cheap lights, but even newer LED ones aren't totally immune. IRL it's a nuisance, but in a game it's a good source of tension.

1:23:02 That's not bizarre at all because technically speaking a GPS's representation of the entire Earth is just a huge image made up of smaller images known as "tiles", the route calculation depends on the nodes that are placed on top of roads automatically based on an algorithm. This is not a "Ghost in the machine" scenario, maybe the map service's engineers accidentally placed a rogue node in the middle of the lake, or the algorithm itself screwed up, and since the route through the lake is faster than going around it the GPS mistakenly generated an erroneous and seemingly malicious route.

Occasional playing of this is fine with me, that's what the game lends itself well to. But don't be mistaken, there's a lot of emergent gameplay mechanics in this, you can even pseudo rig together vehicles and craft things out of certain types of containers like wooden pallets. Wholeheartedly recommend giving the radio a listen sometimes too, it adds to the atmosphere. Custom Radio can be a bit laggy between track switches, but if you could get that working, you could even add your own music to go on the radio, royalty free if you care about that sort of thing I suppose.

Watching this I'm reminded of a movie called "Duel" starring Dennis Weaver. He is chased/followed/stalked by a semi-truck driver. I think that would be a nice touch if headlights were to, every now and then at random, show up in the rear view mirror. This would def add some tension. 😯

I'll just hope across the man in yellow clothing and yellow skin doing wacky stuff, but is secretly a cosmic entity capable of breaking any game he's in along the way 😂 That aside, thanks for another creepy experience, made comfy with your commentary!

Oh also in Episode 1 you were talking about Cruise control. Pressing U in a vehicle enables mouse steering and mouse acceleration. You can kind of use the mouse throttle for it, but it's fidget and risky lol (Would practice it in a separate safe to preserve your series)

43:52 the black dog. commonly only a single dog on the road, will sometimes appear as a pair that are injured. when seen, pull off and rest. your brain is telling you to have a break. frequently seen by truck drivers doing night runs

All of the soviet block vehicles. The retro flashlight. The AK-47. The desert almost feels comically out of place and you would expect some eastern european scenery!

Hey librarine! If your gonna continue this series- Let us tip ya on some things to keep the trip interesting. There is a mod available for the game that adds Traffic Cars into the game. It is also worth mentioning that there's also police cars added in that spawn of traffic.So better drive normally whenever your around them.And there's also taxis and yes.they will stop and pick you up if your on the side of the road ^-^

I gotta say your videos have been making my late night video watching really nice. Your voice is just so nice to listen to and my favorite is the Backrooms Tape Video the one that looked some what realistic.

Agreed. I appreciate that these videos are loosely edited. In a way that it's not trying to constantly keep my attention like I'm a toddler. That seems to be what most KZbin videos do now

10:12 every time I see something like this in the middle of a desert, I think of the old Gorillaz 19-2000 flash game. It was a recreation of the music video, and in said video you could see a church in the distance. In the game, you're driving on this high up, abstract track, and you can drive up to the low poly church

About two years ago, I was working late into the night and getting very little sleep as well. There was one night I was driving home and there was a deer standing in the middle of the road staring at me. I still don’t know if it was my tired mind playing tricks on me or if I ran into some sort of possessed deer. Anyway, these spooky stories had me thinking about my own :)
