For those who have never gone through rehab for a joint injury, it is very painful and involves a lot of hard work to get back to normal.

Hit by car had shoulder injury. Did rehab exercises 4 times a day, iced, tried to keep range of motion good. It took about 6 months to get back on court. Another 6 months for injury to heal so I didn't hear clunking in shoulder. Very lucky to have shoulder at 90+ percent of what it was previously. Thiem seems to have the best of everything so with time he should return to playing well.

There is very much to learn when watching specialists treating the injuries of these players. I know the feeling and how slow the recovery has to be in order to not re injure an area.

This is great - but also I hope Dom knows why that injury happened as if you dont fix the cause it might happen again! Lets think about how hard and fast he was hitting those Forehands - probably wrist could not handle this! Same happened to Delpo right? Maybe time to rething the technique or slow down with speed a bit as there are limits to what human body can handle- after all we are not robots yet and thanks god we are not!!! All the best Dom!! 🎉

What caused the injury if someone can explain ? Technique ?
@al1976-v7m
@al1976-v7m 23 күн бұрын
I wouldn't say his technique was necessarily deficient but in combination with the effort he put into his shots it caused harm in the long run. He packed a serious punch for his size, and it partly came from his strong and extensive wrist snap where he really used the joint's full range of motion. He tore his flexor retinaculum, a structure that holds the flexor tendons in place while the muscles are contracting, especially in a bent position. It happened on a rather awkward shot where the ball was already out of play and his timing therefore not 100% correct but the injury was probably more caused by repetitive overload.

I had a wrist sprain from too much repeated shock from my racquet strung too tight. It’s been 3 years.. it cracks every time I rotate it & will get swollen or agitated if I’m not too careful. Helppp

@justusbeweel1109
@justusbeweel1109 2 жыл бұрын
I don’t think that I would prolong his career, because his forehand and kick serve especially are pretty heavy on his wrist too. Look at his technique , there is so much wrist movement , that gives him the power and spin.....
@NamesAreRandom
@NamesAreRandom 2 жыл бұрын
@@justusbeweel1109 It would, he hits at least 1/3 backhands and he hits them very hard. 2hd backhand requires very little of the wrist on the racket hand - it would literally remove 1/3 of the punishment that wrist takes. Personally I think he'll spend most of his career fighting wrist injuries.

Absolutely zero mention of nutrition- it plays a massive role in injury prevention and recovery. I dig Thiem and I’m a big RF fan. But it pains me to see what they put in their bodies given the fact that they’re surrounded by so many “knowledgeable” high paid employees. I get it though - it’s all about money at the end of the day and this video is sponsored by Red Bull. #forksoverknives #medicalmedium

His biggest downfall was his wrist rehab, using HOT CANDLEWAX on the skin that's supposedly speeds up recovery... NO. Hot = inflammation! Cold = GOOD. He needs to SUE THAT DOCTOR who told him to use hot candlewax. He should've iced that wrist again and again and again.
