Thanks for the video, Jon! Awesome accomplishment. I’m also a bigger dude, slow runner, prepping for my first marathon in April. My current longest run is 9 miles at around 12:00ish/mile. What are some tips to keep your heart rate down? My fear with longer runs is that I can’t stay in zone 2 very well, and after my runs, my heart rate sits around 100-120 for about a day while I recover. Even if I walk around the house my heart rate can jump to about 120, and I am gassed. I take cold showers and sauna regularly for recovery. Any advice would be appreciated. It’s been freaking me out, and I’m considering switching to a half marathon instead. Thanks man!

That’s awesome thanks for watching!! And I’ve started putting more effort on my warm up and that’s helped with when I start my run keeping my heart rate low but for it being up days after I’m not sure, it might be something that goes away over time 🤷🏻♂️

Nice to see you running into the New Year Jon! Whenever I run on the road I get worried that cars won't see me or that I'll get hit. Any tips for staying visible or overcoming that fear?

I use reflective clothing and blinking lights., but always assume that cars and cyclists don't see you.

Yeah running on the side where you can see them coming helps me and bright clothing!
