Good ol' grandmummy... she's also the only relative of Daffy that has appeared onscreen (besides that one weird uncle he had on Casa de Calma). I wonder if she's still alive though?

damn Grandmummy was probably the only positive thing in Daffy’s messed up childhood. His parents’ fighting was so bad Daffy had to leave, he struggles remembering things past the age of 15… had a rough high school experience, struggled to make ends meet at Thataburger, has a hillbilly uncle he wants no association with… Grandmummy was prolly everything to him 😭

My headcanon is that Daffy actually comes from an extremely wealthy family. After suffering from neglect as a child and making his only close connection with his Grandmother, he inherited her fortune, much to the dismay of his family. But, being Daffy, he lost it all, and now has no family and no money to rely on.

My theory about Daffy's childhood and upbringing has always been: His grandmother was the rich one in the family and he spent plenty of his early years visiting her. When she passed, her wealth was split between Daffy's parents and Uncle, but her will specifically stated the pearls would be given to Daffy, and if anyone in the family attempted to take them from him, there'll be no money for them. Daffy's uncle was a good man but a naïve one. He was so overjoyed that he spent the money on whatever caught his attention, including some doubtful stocks. One day, all his share was gone. Daffy's parents weren't like that, but their marriage was falling apart due to their own greed. Daffy eventually ran away, still wearing the pearls though. He decided to stay with his Uncle since his parents had no contact with him anyway. Once they found out, they decided to name Uncle as Daffy's legal guardian because one kid less, more money for them, right? People looked down on Daffy's family situation and he was bullied all throughout high school. By the time he reached college age, he decided to leave his Uncle's house since the man was still incredibly dim-no wonders Daffy is like that as well-and started working as a frying cook. He kept hopping from job to job until he met Bugs. And even through all of that, he never sold the pearls. Never even thought about it.

Daffy's relationship with his grandmother kinda reminded me of my relationship with mine. We we're best friends no matter the cause. If i got scared of something, she would hold my hand and sing until i fell asleep. Once i grew older, we came to watch the same tv show and crack almost 10~20 jokes all night long. We we're always together, and even though she already passed away, i'll never forget the time i had together with her.
