This is a very interesting adjustment as I am probably doing the opposite right now, currently bluff flop/turn sometimes but definitely don't bluff the river enough. Going to give river bluffing a try vs these maniacs! Thanks Phil!

I like this idea for a series. A lot of live, low stakes PLO games are high VPIP + low PFR and many pots go multiway. What tips do you have for playing multiway pots in PLO?
@youngsroc20062 жыл бұрын
Hey Daniel I play a lot of live plo . 1 be patient and wait for decent nutted hands like A high suited rundowns hands, big pairs with a suit ; and always try to play in late position. 2 identify who are the loose aggressive players , and if they are on your left tighten up your range because they will create alot of big pots ! Good luck !

Phil, thanks for the video. LAG to my right who always calls or raises my opens, regardless of size, and then done bets any and every dry board. My adjustment thus far, has been to just play tight and aggressive, 3-betting w premiums mixed w/ shoving them, but I'd rather not put my stack up pre w/ TT, JJ, JQs or even KQs, ATs (you get me). I've been playing "tight is right", and it's revealing how, even in position, against players like this, I have to tighten my strategy more than I'm comfortable. Maybe that's just the way?! Mostly I play MTT sit n go's and PKO Bounty Tourneys. Any thoughts or reference to a video you'd recommend or articles on the subject would be greatly appreciated.

hi, how do you adjust in hu vs ultra agro fishes who open 3 or 4x, pot pot pot a lot and call checkraises very wide, of course calling wider and more merged postflop but at the same time we don't want to have a big variance against such fishes so we wait for good hands but get grinded down quite quickly when we don't hit the boards

How do you play against players who bet unpolarized in position? How do you play your medium strength hands on turn after he checks?

What about opponents that love limp calling any 4, especially in PLO. How to adjust, specifically in Sit n go format or MTT. Love to see your videos back up, been following you since the old days.

In PLO I have trouble playing vs agrassive opponents that 3 bet and go all the way. In NL it´s tricky to play vs guys like Pearson from this HSP season. Have you been watching the show? Cheers!

I need a deeper explanation on these two different boards. How is K,7,2 much different than 10,7,2 in terms of what our opponents are likey to have.
@DavidGarcia-uy2sx2 жыл бұрын
K72 is a static board, T72 is a dynamic board. On K72 top pair on the flop is likely to be the best hand throughout all streets and any pair is relatively strong. On T72 a lot of turn cards change the nuts and open up draws that can get there on the river. Your top pairs and middle pairs will probably lose a lot of value by the time you get to the river. On K72 your opponent is drawing almost dead with QJ if you have top pair so he will fold this type of hand on the flop & when you get to the turn his range is much stronger and this is why you should not try to bluff.
@PhilGalfond2 жыл бұрын
The main difference is how much equity a lot of unpaired hands have against top pair. (Ignoring flush draws…) On K72, it’s hard to have a lot of outs against KQ, but on T72, AJ has 6 outs against KT, J8 and J9 have 7, 98 has 8, 86 and 96 have 4. So there are a lot more unpaired hands that can call a bet on the flop comfortably.
@DarkTruth12 жыл бұрын
@@PhilGalfond thanks. I think I'm getting it now. When you're referring to equity I'm assuming your talking about their equity and not ours? Villains have plenty of hands that can call flop but fold brick turns?
@DarkTruth12 жыл бұрын
@@DavidGarcia-uy2sx thanks this makes sense. Quick definition of static board and dynamic board? I think I have the general gist of it but just want to clarify. Are their other board types other than static and dynamic?

Cash game play…what about the players that come from higher stakes - let’s say 3/5 NLH player going to play 1/2 NLH for example - bullying the table..crazy big bets pre flop and flop, etc etc

I think what you should do against him is slow play more Don’t play scared money and make some marginal calls And don’t get tilted and start doing what he does!

I watched you first ages ago, some tv poker show. Was it 'Cash game'? Anyway, are there any good shows on now? Prefer where you can hear a bit of banter instead of commentators.

Most shows like that are under pokergo subscription now. For live streams the best out there is Hustler Casino live. For good blogs there is rampage poker, Jaman Burton and the goat imo is Ryan Depaulo. Good luck V

@@DLHarv Agree with all you've said. Just wanna add a couple of others which I've enjoyed. While Hustler is "the nuts", keep a lookout over the next few months for The Lodge to be bringing some good content. Also, Andrew Neeme and Brad Owen's vlogs are good watches. Polk, well, the VLodges are new for him, and he seems punty thus far, but I watch for any new tips and in the hopes of watching well-played poker; win or lose from him. Cheers.

@@Eric-tj3tg I've been watching a bit of Hustler now, and it's quite fun I have to say. Maybe the quality of the poker isn't that great always but the entertainment value is always there. What's your assessment of i.e. Wesley's play ? I can't believe this is for free really.

kzbin.info/www/bejne/n5Csep6erbOGgbs My name is Jeremy, hand starts at 2:56:00 in the video. I'm playing 2/5/10 8 handed live in Texas. Games get kind of crazy here, but I've never played with this opponent before. I've seen him call flops and turns with some extremely marginal hands and so far in today's short sample size he has been getting there on the river and having a good time. Would appreciate any advice.
@Pokerfarhang2 жыл бұрын
I think there are a few things you could do differently but I don’t think the result would be very different. according to what you said this is a standard cooler. Nice check on the river to let opponent bluff his missed draws.
@jeremyjernigan50182 жыл бұрын
@@Pokerfarhang If you're interested I ran AQ into KK earlier in the stream and got stacked. Starts at 1:03:52 if you wanted to comment on that one. Slightly less interesting imo. Probably should have folded flop, but thought he might have had a hand similar to mine and could take it away on later streets if I missed. Ended up hitting the Q on the turn and getting it all in for about 60% pot.
@Pokerfarhang2 жыл бұрын
Oh that was a brutal Q on the turn. I think when people cold 4bet preflop they most likely representing better that AQ since they must worry about more that one hand it’s rarely done as a bluff. Unless there is something about the dynamics of the game, maybe it’s a fold pre flop or on the flop. But once you hit that queen with that stack to pot ratio I think the money is going in either way on the turn or river.
@jeremyjernigan50182 жыл бұрын
@@Pokerfarhang Yeah, if I'm at an outter table I probably fold preflop. I'm cognisant of not being a nit on stream and would definitely be ridiculed for not defending AQ on stream in Texas. Things did turn around for me right at the end. Last 4 hands of the night I got a much needed double up with AA. No one believes you have it during the stand up game so I 4 bet huge and c bet big and got lucky to have run into the AK bluff in that spot. Then we had the 72 game on for 75 per person and won that two hands later. Ended up +$307 for the stream (numbers at the end are slightly off).
