The Lorax

The Lorax is a Dr. Seuss fable concerning the danger of greed causing environmental destruction. Using the literary element of personification to create relatable characters -- the Once-ler for industry, the Lorax for environmental activism, and Truffula Trees, Swomee-Swans, Bar-ba-loots, and Humming-Fish for nature -- Dr. Seuss encourages children to do their part to protect the environment that sustains us. "Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not."
