I love the dubstep bass that they threw in during the second phase of the OST. It's so MEATY, and it's intense as hell, really emphasizing the urgency and gravity of the situation. It screams "take this thing down NOW or else the world is FUCKED". Great rendition, I loved it!

@@redaggron1theres a very low frequency synthetic bass in the latter section of Midra’s OST. It stands out because no other Souls Fromsoft OST has it. Everything uses strings/orchestrals/organic instruments. Someone once even said that Fromsoft was saving the bass button for something that really deserved it. It gives the notion that the Frenzied Flame is truly an alien force to be reckoned with.

Midra was honestly the highlight of the DLC. Oh sure, he was difficult, but by no means unfair. Just enough telegraph, just enough speed, and plenty of stuff where you just need to let him finish. He might be annoying as a caster, but in close range, it felt like a dance. If only Jori wasnt blocking him...

This is probably the most stressful and pressing feeling fight in the game to me because, assuming you're not a Frenzyflame diciple yourself, you're basically the last thing standing between a fantasy nuke x 1000 being unleashed upon the world. And the music definitely captures this feeling. And it translates very well to metal too!

Lore wise, yeah; but practically i was a bit disappointed with the simpleness of the bossfight and the lack of more details in the map. Overall tho it's probably still my favourite of the dlc (maybe second only to Messmer). Nontheless, i gotta say Midra's ost is definitely my favourite, and Promised Consort my close second

@@gufus3045 a man of quality! I was pretty lucky with the circumstances too ig. I went into the abyss totally blind and for the first time since like DS 1 I felt like I was really in danger. The "Don't let them see you" signs and stuff, and when I called Torrent and it said no? Mannn. It was also night in game and irl, the vibe was just on point when I got to Midra. Radahn and Messmer are nothing to sleep on though, I would say add Bayle to the mix and it's my four favorite bosses ever

The one thing that was missing for me, that no cover i heard so far did either, was the one happy chord on THAT part. I wont tell which part, the people who know, know. Just thats in the original song, but noone seems to think its important enough to cover. To me, its the most important part in the song that completley changes it.
