Fire vid, but you got one thing wrong. Only the green inhaler was made by STING, purple & orange inhalers are invention of Releasers (minor faction). My own theory about "infection" is that either the world outside of Mensong has been ravaged by a pandemic and the city is one of last (if not the last) shelters of humanity, or there's some sort of bioweapon being secretely made in Mensong (maybe by STING) or it's simply an excuse to something else (like secretly making contraband technology in Mensong)

you forgot to mention something. in the latest update (the one with rendbreaker, etc), they added fire hydrants. in the patch note, it is said to not drink from them, because the water is contaminated. it is also said by a staff member that water can’t be consumed by sombre’s citizens, they can only be fed with energized rations. you could make a few theories with those, i just wanted to let you know

Big speculations and theories here, most of them do line up to the games lore though. If you go down to scourge and go to that random tunnel that leads to nowhere, you can find a log "Ghost of tunnelside" In the log the said user is meant to be going insane, however the truthfulness of that statement may be something else, the individual says the words "It twists and contorts in the bowels of the tunnelside!" A disease was clearly released which caused humans to turn into hunks of flesh, Operators specifically have a self destruct mechanism to prevent their bodies from being taken over, thats also why the suits cannot be removed, once you put it on you sacrifise yourself to the efforts of sting to neutralize the infection. Photon weaponry isnt just because "oh cool lightsaber sword rdhgfugbdgdg" it's because it is meant to rip through flesh and defeat large targets quickly. Thats why photons affectancy decreases heavily when the user equips armor. The gates you see around the district lead to the other 3 districts and the bunker is a last resort if the world is falling into infection or a skyfall is used. Access denied and metro also lead to a deeper underground facility as in their cargo elevators and bunker has a reactor and a large supply of food just incase desperate times arise. Access denied is a research facility that is meant to actually house cargo and commence research inside of it, so far we are shown very little of it as the elevator doesnt lead anywhere, I think there will be an option to go deeper for more lore dialogue and loot if stuff ever does get added to it. Also just for a common mishap the underground area of green is meant to be military only and the above is for civilian transport, of course now abandoned as there is no way to leave the city.

crazy shit and theories you've made here which seem to make sense, but we cant really 100% believe theres flesh monsters, its possible, but its a crazy assumption (which every assumption is, since we have next to no info on what the disease really is) also wouldnt the bunker require a higher tier keycard to enter if it was the last hope orw hatever? im not really 100% sure edit : i just remembered what the last eclipse gamemode was. you're most likely correct on everything here. holy shit

The tablet u find in the tunnels in scrouge could hint towards the infection Pve mode as Solomon states Glowing ember eyes are watching him which the beings in the pve mode have also could be the reason for the pretty heavy military presence down there such as green or the military outpost there idk he could Also just be schizophrenic

I think that the infection make us super strong . lets be real here , us players deal ton more damage than the npcs and fire faster and better , so I think we are or either mercenaries hired by sting to kill em all or we are citizens affected by the virus that made us super strong and better in general (its just a theory)
