I’m only 12 seconds into the video and I already like how you made that comment “ cordyceps didn’t just destroy humanity. It remade it.”

The very first infected you are introduced to after the time jump is what I believe to be the scariest part of the franchise. When you are sneaking out of the QZ to get to the area where you find Robert. There is a family that got infected and turned in front of you. The woman attacks and kills the man, and you can hear her crying as she eats the man. It's implying that the person is still self-aware as it takes control over their body.

I have a love hate relationship with how it takes over the body. The fact that in the first moments after changing they can still feel, hear their loved ones, and know what they're doing but are unable to stop it. Its How I imagine someone like Stephen Hawking would feel without his wheelchair and computer, unable to speak and react for himself but there is someone in there still, there is a person who can hear and feel still but stuck in a state where he cannot share those thoughts until an item was created to help(ie his computers, wheelchairs for other disabled people etc) I love it because its such a grim reality that shows how fucked up nature is but I hate it because its very much a real thing that could happen to any of us one day and we'd never know until it's far too late.

Deserve a million views. Cordyceps is the best zombie spinoff lore I’ve encountered, even growing up as a Romero fanboy
@AlanpittsS2b2 күн бұрын
I agree. I like zombie stuff but some of it is to cheesy for me. Last of us took a real thing and combined it with fiction but it feels more real than a lot of other types of content

As someone who loves the more philosophical and metaphorical questions about fictional worlds, i commend you on this. It was nice to finally hear someone who thought more on what the "end" of the world meant. Make more of these, please!

As a huge TLOU fan who absolutely loves both games Part 1 and Part 2 both emotional thought-provoking masterpieces. I also enjoyed the HBO series adaptation I thought it was very well done and faithful. This video here was really wonderful amazingly well made and put together bravo!! definitely one of my favorites I've seen going into Cordyceps and the wider concepts and themes the games/show represent.

Arcaveli I absolutely love you're analysis of popular Fantasy and video game lore. I have suggestions if you wanted to know and will watch either way with your awesome ideas or my eh spitballs but im liking the videos all the way from 1 to present but before that i wanted to firstly say that you have a rare skill few lore channels have. You are an engaging reader with a well articulated ability to decipher and put these into a fun and honestly able to imagine way. Everything from you're video White walkers and GOT events are honestly better than most out there. I'm extremely excited to see the future of you're content. And this video being one of my favorite series of games is a home-run for me. It's amazing and you should be extremely proud of you're ability to articulate these lore bits and make it worth the time to this and honestly makes me wish you had longer segments even up to an hour. Your voice also is the perfect narrative voice btw. Im proud to of found this channel and i look forward to your success as a lore lord. Keep at it if not for me then for your skills as a narrative speaker of fantasy. So here's a few suggestions that come to mind. Fedra and the factions of TLOU from both parts. Jurassic park the books are a wonderful one and nice mix of science/Dark matters/thought provoking media and there's 2 so it'd be pretty easy to cover (there 800 pgs total and easier could make up 10 videos. Dead space because who doesn't love it 1 and 2 are perfect body horror and terrifying to think about ntm lots of varieties of lore ya dissect. Halo from the covenant/UNSC/Flood/Flood Spartans are awesomely terrifying thoughts and so much more. Or what if the flood succeeded. More GOT because you have some perfect hits there. Helldivers has Rich lore and is extremely popular. Could be a good potential. Bugs/bots/calamari/Super earth its self. Skyrim and Elder scolls in general. The Dwemer are a good mystery but im sure you can find all the good lore. Warhammer fansty or even 40k. Literally so rich with lore. SCPs are a good staples. Movies like alternative historu or fallout is a perfect one. But i mean always stick to your cups of tea. I'm just a fan trying to help but you probably know all this. Tbh I'm not giving a whole lot or else this would take a while to type. My thumb hurts so this it for now. I could always come back to enjoy the post in future just appreciate anything you got in the barrel. I mean you got it down pat. if you like my brainstroming ill gladly add more and more obscure if i can find it. KEEP UP THE 10 STAR WORK. I'm rooting you to become a household name on here. -With much respect Some random lore nerd and appreciating new fan of your channel. P.s either way i just want to see you soar my brainstorming or youre obviously Spectacular ability to pick top tier lore. Kick some lore ass brother amd can't wait to see more videos from your channel Arcaveli. Good luck.

Scientifically speaking, cordyceps doesn't exactly control the host by the brain, it moves the legs and other limbs. But I guess HBO and the gamemakers made it more of an AU version.

I think what makes this type of infection so horrifying is that it's real and now that I am thinking about it, it could actually happen as I think if it were to be given a mutation or adaptation to the human physiology or even a nuclear exposure

The last of us hbo series is one of the few adaptations ive watched and thought that the liberties taken were really interesting and well done. They managed to adapt to a new medium while adding more depth to the characters and the world, its impressive. I hope they keep it up for season 2.

Even if you're not a video game player the games are amazing I highly recommend at least watching a playthrough of the games(both Part 1 and Part 2) plenty of good playthroughs on KZbin you can watch. The HBO series is a good adaptation very well made, but in my opinion the games are absolutely way better.
