I remember my brother and I making our own bat at home when we were kids, it was a one piece we only had a timber file to shape the handle and the back, a hammer to compress the timber face and electrical tape as a grip. Best days of our life. We used it for many innings.

Can one make cricket bats at of any type wood?
@zk62396 ай бұрын
yes but we have to get the wood which should be light weight and bounce the ball more (high ping) so in this case english willow is the best after this is kashmir willow and so on.

Lost art? But cricket bats are still being made - how is it lost?!
@tomsykes9557 Жыл бұрын
Process has become increasingly mechanised or perhaps they mean it is a lost art in Australia as very few bats would be hand made in Australia but instead outsourced to sweatshops in India etc

Mass production.

Hopefully the bat without a real handle is only for tennis balls
