The post credit scenes after Endgame either go nowhere or just showcase how haphazard and unorganised everything is. Shang-Chi has the titular character meet up with Bruce Banner, Carol Danvers and Wong to talk about the Ten Rings. No Way Home has a “Gotcha” moment with Venom at a bar getting teleported back to his own dimension but part of him gets left behind. Multiverse of Madness has Doctor Strange get ordered by some chick wearing purple to fix an incursion he caused. Love and Thunder has Zeus decide to dispose of Thor by siccing Hercules on him. Bet you all of these ideas they tease get canned.
@stevenmcburney81678 күн бұрын

In the original script of MoM, it opened with Mordo going to Wanda's cabin, intending to either kill her or take her powers away because of Westview. She would then kill him and present his decapitated head to Strange. In the actual movie, Mordo is mentioned in a throwaway line to his Earth-838 counterpart. All Strange had to say is that his Mordo tried and failed to kill him countless times. Which is more insulting? Using Wanda to kill off the threat the first movie set up? Or saying that, throughout Ragnarok, Infinity War, Endgame and No Way Home, Mordo was still at large and carrying out his crusade but it wasn't important?

Because I'm just at the point where I'm wondering when we're going to wrap this all up. Endgame was the perfect climax to everything that was built up to that point, and anything after that should have been focused on making sure each remaining character ended in a good place, not keep expanding the universe and story.

Even then, I was like, "Ready? Are you that confident in your success that you're not going to tell me about your movie?" I gotta admit, I do miss the days old days of Marvel. Every time a movie ended, you already couldn't wait for the next one. The only Marvel show I've liked recently is "Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur" and it's telling that an animated non-MCU Disney channel show is currently better at storytelling. And ironically, season 1 ended on a cliffhanger with an intriguing post-credits scene!

This is why the MCU and Marvel Studios NEEDS to take a year or two long break after Secret Wars. They need to stop releasing or announce any projects, and just take a year or two long break. During that time, Kevin Feige should organize a core creative team that oversees each project, hire writers and directors that are willing to be collaborative and showcase a new chapter in the massive story of the MCU. They also need to boost the minimum wage of VFX artists and wait till the VFX is finished BEFORE they release trailers and announce release dates of films and shows. Each film/show is meant to immerse the audience. How are the audience going to be immersed in your project when the VFX looks unfinished? The Flash, She Hulk, Josstice League, Thor Love and Thunder, etc are some Marvel and DC films that suffered because of this problem. And yet Disney and WBD don't really seem to care, and that is a major problem. When projects DO get the right amount of time and care, you get Godzilla Minus One, Avatar 1 and 2, Avengers Infinity War, The Avengers 2012, Michael Bay's Transformers, King Kong 2005, etc. These are majorly successful films that managed to immerse the audience because the VFX was finished and had love and passion behind it

@Teenpool20095 күн бұрын
Yeah man. This really just proved Scorsese's point. He didn't hate Marvel and DC movies, he just don't like how the directors and the writers don't have some freedom to make good stories. Some movies and shows should have been their own thing even if they take place in the same universe. The Daredevil show (which is now canon to the MCU) is good because it is it's own thing and doesn't have to tie in the movies. Phase 1 did have some post credit scenes and set up but they are just their own thing (same said for almost all of the X-Men movies). Heck, the Raimi trilogy was good (almost) because Sam Raimi had the time and freedom to make it a good movie (atleast Spider-Man 1 and 2).

One thing they teased in The Avengers 1 secret scene that sort of but also kind of didn’t come to fruition was when they said Thanos would need to “court DEATH” (who was Thanos’ very motivation in the Infinity Gauntlet storyline from the comics) to take on his task of wiping out half of human existence… but as time marched on, Thanos’ MCU motivation became one of misunderstood noble intentions of balance, harmony, and universal survival. In the source material, Thanos did everything for some Deathussy…Thanos wasn’t some noble man that took on the burden of saving the universe the hard way… he was The Mad Titan, a villain through and through, who acted selfishly for his own benefit. The character of Death never showed up until Agatha All Along, and now Thanos is dead and gone. So what’s the point of bringing her in all this time later? I guess she could still wind up with Deadpool, now that they’re both in the MCU, and have source material history. Bottom line… in a way, the secret scene for Avengers 1 did it’s job and lead us into the Infinity Saga… but it also was never FULLY realized until 12 years later with a Disney+ spin-off series that finally brought Death herself into the franchise… now for ultimately no reason other than “look, it’s Death! Thanos/Deadpool’s girlfriend”

I think the post credit-scenes are what made these movies feel like a "cohesive" story. One les into the other, there was an order to it, and now on top of the other issues the mcu is suffering from, they no longer have that glue making people want to see the next movie. Lets say i really like Venom, to the point where i and only wanna see venom, whats gonna make me wanna watch the next Sony movie? I don't care about Kraven, i dont care about Madame Web, i care about Venom. That end credit scene is the chance to show me why i should care, how they relate to the movie i just watched and how what i just watched would relate to the next thing. And now they basically just use them for jokes or unused plot lines. All these movies no longer feel like they are naturally leading up to something. We know Doomsday is gonna happen, not cause Doom himself was teased, but because we know when the movie "Doomsday" is gonna release. I dont wanna know what movie is gonna come out in 3 effing years, i want to have some build up and have it be a suprise. In the time between learning when Gaurdians 3 was gonna be released and its actual release, i lost interest entirely and havent even bothered to see it. Their chance to set up the next big villain was wasted in Black Widow, a movie that takes place before Endgame and Infinity War, couldve had a scene showing Doom or Kang already doing something in reaction to the Blip, or Doom trying to solve it only for it to be undone and he screams Richards! Setting up the fact he wants to save the world, is already working on that and sets up the Fantastic 4's existence with one namedrop. Or literally anything more relevant than set up for a show, (that i have no interest in) Sorry for long comment, im just upset they wont do Doom justice.

I know you don't care for IM3's post credit scene because it didn't hype up anything, but you gotta admit, it felt like a sincere talk between 2 friends in Tony and Bruce. It felt like a real scene. Post Infinity Saga, Mid and Post Credit Scenes are overlong and just poorly made. Nevermind that Eternals hyped something that hasn't come, look at HOW it hypes it. Some annoying, comic relief creature type outright tells us that a One Direction is Thanos' brother. Why? How? What? Huh? In Shang Chi, him and Katy meet Banner and Carol through holograms. This is a crossover moment and it's happening on the mid credit scene. Everything feels so casual when it's supposed to be a big thing. The Marvels had this long ass scene that, like you said, wasted Beast. But I'm more distracted by Maria Rambeau's appearance. When she stood up, the camera pans out to reveal her costume like it's supposed to mean something. I'm no comic book nerd, man. Is she supposed to be a somebody? What does this mean? There’s nothing wrong with having to watch past movies to undertand the current movie cuz I like to think of the mcu like a tv show where you can’t just skip to S2 ep 5 and expect to know everything, you have to start from the beginning. But the issue phase 4 caused with all its loose plot threads and tv shows is it made watching newer movies feel exhausting because you felt you had so much homework to catch up on. Old mcu did it best where you didn’t need to watch older movies to understand what was going on. Every movie was standalone while having the post credit scenes be this glue that gave everything connectivity

Hm. You might only be talking about post-credits, but you may have actually unlocked the key to why the MCU has been struggling so much after Endgame. Yes, everybody has recognized how Phase 4 sucks, but you've stumbled across the methodology in WHY exactly it happened the way it did! There's so much teasing for teasing's sake that it's crazy. Nice work. I haven't seen many put it this way before. You should look at DC's post credits history. As for my personal opinion, I hate all the ones that are just jokey with no point. Especially shwarma. That was the beginning of Marvel using what they'd established with their audience, and taking it for granted. I get that it might be 'safer' than teasing something that might not come to pass, but I'm just not into it. Put that shit on SNL or the MTV movie awards, not here wasting my time. It's Marvel at the height of cocky.

Can you do a video on the MCU's horrendous lack of musical thematic continuity? Pirates of The Caribbean is one of my favourite series's's's ever. Over the course of the "original trilogy", there are many beautiful themes and leitmotifs set up for each character and movie theme. There's ones for Jack Sparrow, freedom, Davy Jones, love and despair, Barbosa, etc etc. One of my absolute favourite things about a movie is how it does music. The thrill I get when I see Jack Sparrow do something awesome or very Jack Sparrow, and his theme plays is amazing. More examples of this are How To Train Your Dragon, The Spider-verse, Lord Of The Rings, and the big daddy of leitmotifs; Star Wars. I loooooveeeee the Heroic Theme (Luke's Theme), The Force Theme, Leia's Theme, Yoda's Theme, The Empire's Strength Theme (Darth Vader's Theme), The Emporer's Theme, the theme for Anakin's Betrayal, The Clones' Theme. Beautifully written, composed, and executed. (Almost none of this counts for the Sequel Trilogy, I mean like just because Yoda lifted an X-wing out of a bog does not mean that everytime an X-wing is force-lifted his theme plays. It's not the X-Wing Force-Lift Theme). But none of this is seen in the MCU except for five themes (that I know of), and it is a horrible shame. I absolutely adore the Driving With The Top Down from Ironman 1. It is just so Ironman to me. (although I've discovered that for some reason everyone on the internet seems to prefer Ironman 3. The worst of the themes). Imagine, in Spider-Man Homecoming, when the remote controlled suit flies in to save Peter, you hear the dun dun dun dun, dun dun dun dun, dadunnn guitar from Ironman 1, and you instantly know as a viewer that Ironman is on screen. Chills. Now for the five that do have some continuity: The obvious one is the Avengers' Theme. It plays in every Avengers movie, which makes sense, and whenever it plays, the crowd goes wild. Less obvious, the Black Panther's Theme. It plays in the Portals scene in Endgame, when T'Chala comes through his portal. Very good, sets up his presence on screen. Now for the good ones; Antman, Spider-Man, and The Guardians. Antman's daaaaaannndannnnnn dadadaaaaannnn dannnnnnn dada dun dun daddun dun dun dun dadun dun dun dadun dun dun dadunnn is chef's kiss. And it stays, in atleast some form, across all three Antman movies. Spider-Man: Homecoming's dun dun dada dun dun, dun dun dada dun dun, dun dun dada dun dunn, dunnn dun dun dun dun dunnn perfectly symbolises the Tom Holland Spider-Man, and this theme is presence, albeit in very differing forms across each movie. And now, ladies and gentlemen: The Guardians Of The Galaxy!!!! I was genuinely shocked when I entered the showing of the sequel to find the Guardians Inferno. Happily shocked. And then, in the 3rd and final aswell?! Mwah! Loooovovvvvvvvved the GOTG music; the themes annd the songs, so I loooovvvvve their continuity. That's all I have to say for now. I would pay good money to see some internet group completely recompose the MCU, using all the theme from each heros' first film, (they're across the board the best. Thor 1, Ironman 1, Antman 1, Captain America 1, etc etc) and use leitmotifs.

@@t3kscarecrow474 I find it to be a real shame they abandoned all of their themes. I’d hoped in Avengers you’d get to hear them all but they only used Cap’s for a second. With how cool and epic the Avengers theme was across the series it woulda been so cool to have the other character’s ones be reused too.

For me I feel it’s somewhat clear where some of these plot threads are going but that’s because I watch it all. I will say though that since marvel’s always been connected there’s no reason to not have TV shows set up movies in big ways and vice versa. The scarlet witch story was a pretty good example of this. Her story in wandavision picks up right after endgame and infinity war and deals with her grief. She makes up her kids and has to get rid of them to save Westview. She put a spell on Agatha. She tries to learn about her powers and gets corrupted by the darkhold and learns about the multiverse and tries to get her kids back. The way she tried to do it doesn’t make much sense but the idea wasn’t terrible. She “dies” which then sets up Agatha where the spell gets messed up and Agatha meets Teen. Teen connects back to Wandavison in 2021 since he’s Wanda’s son, Billy. In the show they reincarnate Tommy and then they set up Billy and Agatha to look for Tommy. From here we don’t know exactly where it goes but with Vision Quest being sorta confirmed by Vision’s actor, it’s clear that that’s gonna connect to Wandavision and its already rumored that that’s gonna introduce the new Tommy which ties it back to Agatha. With the Wanda movie being rumored to be in production, it should tie all of these movies and shows together and give us the Maximoff reunion. Even if she doesn’t get her movie before Doomsday or Secret Wars, the reunion could happen in one of those movies since I doubt they wouldn’t have Wanda in either of those movies. This is the best connectivity they’ve had in this saga so far and Thunderbolts is also gonna connect to a bunch of movies and shows from this saga like Black Widow, Black Panther 2, Falcon and the Winter Solider, and Hawkeye and even Ant Man and The Wasp from the last saga. Then with the Avengers movies bringing everything together, they’ll be able to connect the characters from this saga into the Avengers and though it’ll probably leave a lot of plot threads hanging like Earth’s judgement by the Celestials, it may find a creative way to tie up some loose ends that seemed very important like Shang Chi’s rings signaling someone and the Council of Kangs. Like maybe Doom kills all the Kangs which sets him up as a big threat and he sees the signal the Ten Rings were sending the Kangs and that leads him to the 616. Wraps up multiple plot threads while also moving the story along. I know this comment is already really long but you really downplayed the importance of Black Widow’s post credit scene. It takes Yelena from where we left her in Black Widow and sets her up to reappear in Hawkeye which she did 4 months later, and then the connection to Val set her up to be in the Thunderbolts which was announced a year later. You just said that it only connected to a couple of scenes in Hawkeye and didn’t mention its connection to the thunderbolts. This was a great video but I just think you missed a couple of important things. Even if most of the stuff I brought up wasn’t in a post credit scene, it’s still important to mention since by only mentioning the post credits, you somewhat downplay the level of connectivity the MCU still has which is bad since that lack of connectivity is a big part of your point. Plus not mentioning the shows post credit scenes I think was a mistake on your part. Just because not everyone watches them doesn’t mean that they aren’t in the MCU and most of them set themselves up for a season 2 or follow up movie and Moon Knight hasn’t gotten a season 2 and Falcon and the Winter Soldier and She Hulk’s post credits scenes don’t lead to anywhere we can really figure out yet but every other show post credit scene has been resolved. Only 3 post credit scenes out of the 9 seasons with post credit scenes haven’t been resolved yet. It’s a good video but I just disagree a lot with it

@@Prebuilt_Room901 I didn’t bring up Thunderbolts* because it hasn’t come out yet, yes us nerds will be able to follow everything you’ve brought up but they have to market to regular people too. The classic post-credits scenes targeted hardcore and casual fans and left both excited. Now you need to look up online to even know it was Blade at the end of Eternals. And I think the Wanda and kids stuff would be interesting if they kept it all in streaming shows, but putting it in the movie confused everyone who didn’t watch the show.

I’ve been trying to make my own Marvel/Superhero universe for a while So this is the impression I got in terms of what a post credit scene should do (correct me if I’m wrong): - Should connect worlds/franchises together (like with Thor’s hammer in Iron Man 2) - They need to feel special and not make the movie feel mundane, like the Nick Fury scene, it needs to feel like a surprise or a mystery as to what it means or what its setting up - Joke post credit scenes should be used sparingly to calm audiences down from all the surprises and tension and just have a good chuckle - Do not give too much away, just little drops of what is out there - Need to catch the interest of the general audience instead of just simply being a way to get fans attention with stuff they know - There could be times where there doesn’t need to be a post credit scene if there’s nothing to add so it’s not taken for granted - Not a commercial for the next movie like a mid credits scene, post credit scenes are what get people’s attention - Part of the interconnectivity or mystery is the “out of context” nature if that makes sense, a different genre bleeding into another film, like Thor’s hammer, a cosmic weapon, in Iron Man 2, a grounded movie - In rare cases, big characters that make people freak out like Thanos can be just that on its own since fans freaking out will do all the hype and explanation for the general audience - Expand the universe, be fun and unexpected like Howard the Duck, a popular character with fans who give people a chuckle when his ducky little ass appears out of nowhere - However Mid credit scenes can be used to tell people to go to a certain movie if it’s really important like Infinity War
