Jason Patric, Keifer Sutherland & the Lost Boys were not only gorgeous, they also had the best vampire hair ever! Did any vampires own hair salons in Santa Carla? 🤔🙃😉 As hot as MOST of the vampires were & as cool as the Frog Brothers were, the best character in the movie was Grandpa, who was not only a badass, he also had the best line: "One thing about living in Santa Carla I never could stomach: all the damn vampires." Surprised no one thought to allegorize juvenile delinquency or lost youth using vampirism before this. The classical vampire archetype is both a challenge to accepted mores (ie. sexual, class systems, politics) but all eventually are consumed by the "shadow" personality that is summoned to achieve it. All vampire stories seem to need both "light" and "dark" versions, like this story. Whomever put this together knew what they were doing.

It was a delight to 'watch' this with you! While it would have been epic to sit in and see your every reaction to everything, I get why you can't. I saw this the night it came out, and nine more times in the next four months. I'm a huge horror fan and I consider this one of the best vampire movies ever made. Keep up the good work! You guys are smart enough that your commentary is very cool, and you don't ruin things or try to shade those of us watching. Glad you enjoyed this movie, because it's pretty much immortal.

My sisters and I were in our early teens when this came out and I cannot even count the number of times we watched this movie. I was obsessed with Corey Haim (Sam) and had his posters all over my wall from the teen magazines back in the day. RIP Corey. You had so much potential and I’m sorry your life turned out the way it did. 💔

The eerie thing to me was the children sing, Thou Shalt Not Fall. That really hit right on the mark. Jamie Gertz… I just loved her in this. Her dancing with that hair. She was perfectly cast! Now I have to watch Twister to see her again! 🤣

We saw this back in '87, I don't remember if it was at the theater or once it hit cable. We were somewhat regulars in Santa Cruz which is where most of this film was shot, even some of the rides in the movie on the boardwalk we rode, it was a little weird seeing those areas we visited in a movie. lol This movie still holds up all these years later. Jason Patric was about as close to a Jim Morrison look-alike as you could get, part of the reason why you kept seeing close-ups of the two, including the side by side shot. Dude had very similar facial features, all they had to do was do his hair differently. Anyway, great reaction as always you two, glad you enjoyed it.

I am beyond shocked that you guys didn't know that this was a Vampire movie! Especially since it's one of the most well known vampire movies. Even when I was a kid I knew

My mum showed me this when I was 12. I had already been into Stand By Me and The Goonies for a while at that point and was a die hard Buffy fan so I instantly became obsessed with this movie 🤣 I’m from a small village in Scotland and so seeing the scenery in this movie was just crazy to me, I’m so jealous of anyone who lives where this movie was filmed especially if they got to be there in the 80s. Still to this day my favourite movie of all time. It’s just a vibe from the moment it starts and I love anything 80s. I love everything about this movie and it’s endlessly quotable.

You guys are growing to be my favorites. And I just love this movie more and more I watch it and the older I get. I was born in 2000. And I love the 80s. Definitely my favorite when it comes to movies and music. Love you 2! ❤❤❤

This has always been one of my favorite movies, I saw it when it came out. There is a very interesting story about the actor who did the younger brother, Corey Haim and one of the Frog Brothers, Corey Feldman; they were both prominent childhood victims of Hollywood. As adults A&E I think did a semi-reality show about their relationship called The Two Corey's. Corey Haim was a recovering addict but died at 38 of heart failure and pneumonia that may have been exacerbated by drug use. He was big in the 80's and you should consider watching his amazing performance in Lucas (my favorite), Silver Bullet, Murphy's Romance, License to Drive and Dream a Little Dream. But this is the movie that made him big. Cory Feldman is best known I think for his role in Stand By Me with River Phoenix (that role had originally been offered to Haim) Wil Wheaton, and Jerry O'Connell as well as Keifer Sutherland if you've not reacted to that you DEFINITELY should it is truly a classic coming of age film; one of the best ever, and written by Steven King.

I love that the boys were named Edgar and Alan, like a nod to Poe. Lol My only thing is why the grandfather would move his daughter and grandchildren to a town that he knows is infested with vampires who are killing people and kids. If you overlook that, though, it’s a fun movie.

The Santa Carla beach, and amusement park is Santa Cruz, but they couldn’t use the name in the movie. But you may have also seen it recently in US to which Jordan peel he homage to the lost boys by using it as well

I watched this movie when it was released, and even back then, it seemed like very much a time capsule of the era in which it was made. Naturally, as a result, watching it now is always very nostalgic for me, since I grew up during the 1980s, but like I said, there was some self-awareness of this at the time, and people back then loved that about it already.

My first introduction to vampire movies was this movie, had all their posters on my wall in my childhood days. And had crushed hard on the Lost boys. Ever since then being addicted to vampire movies
@JamesMLeggatJrP2E11 ай бұрын
The film is an adaptation of the Peter Man mythos. Max is Pan, the Mom Wendy. Star is Tiger Lilly. The Brothers of Wendy (Michael and John) are Michael and Sam here. Nanook replaces Nana the St. Bernard. And Grandpa is a combination of Hook and Smee. Director Joel Schumacher said it was one of his favorite films of his career. And yes, I saw it in theaters, bought the soundtrack, the poster, then the vhs, the dvd and finally the blu-ray.

I was 17 when The Lost Boys was released & it remains one of my favourite films. Still watch it regularly and the soundtrack sounds as good as ever. Actually picked up the soundtrack on red (what else??) vinyl a couple of years ago to add to the cassette and cd copies from way back. There were a couple of sequels to the film released in 2008 & 2010 or thereabouts but unfortunately are not nearly as good and were straight to dvd as far as I remember. Loved this reaction, thank you.
