The Kevin Richardson Wildlife Sanctuary's mission is to provide a self-sustaining African carnivore sanctuary for the purposes of wild species preservation through education, awareness and funding, especially pertaining to the rapid decline of large carnivores in Africa due to habitat loss, human-predator conflict, unscrupulous hunting, disease and their illegal trade.
To raise awareness, Kevin has now set up his KZbin Channel 'LionWhispererTV'. The channel is all about raising awareness about not only the declining numbers of lions, but also how this rapid decrease is happening. By watching these videos, you are directly contributing to our scheme of land acquisition.
Kevin captures the majority of his footage on GoPro cameras, allowing the viewer to get as close as possible to the lions.
By doing this, Kevin hopes to give people an insight into the lives of these beautiful creatures and to let them see just what they can do to help. You can nearly touch them.

TessieTelevision I saw a female Hyena at the zoo years ago and still remember perfectly her enormous size. They're much taller and more stocky than a large size dog with huge paws and a huge long neck. Really breathtaking.

That footage of Nicolas was wonderful- what a gentle soul he had. I hope you know how lucky you are to have these precious animals in your life. Thank you for being their advocate and showing that with patience and love any animal can become a friend if they can trust you completely- that is the magic word- trust. As I write this tears are flowing down my face because I have studied animal behavior my entire life (which is a LONG time) and would give just about anything to be in your shoes just one day. I know it is hard work and you can’t let your guard down but I would be in heaven to just sit and have these wonderful creatures beside me. I read somewhere that when they were around 5 that Yame accepted Nicholas less and less. That's one reason Nicholas left Kevin's sanctuary and went to another that needed a male hyena. I believe that now he has returned to the wild and that's there's even a little Nicholas.

I thought they would stay only at that sanctuary I didnt know hes part of the rewilding hyena Usually hyenas like nicholas or lion who is used to humans are not to be released to the wild since they are used to relying on humans. Maybe hes not part of the rewilding? Last thing i heard of him was in 2019-2020 and he was still in the sanctuary since he got photo in their FB within the sanctuary

@@madtech5153 Nicholas was sent to another facility when Yame turned 5 and wouldn't accept him. He was there around a year, and put with a female and there wasn't any human contact. They were rewilded along with their little one.

Hyenas are the most underestimated animals I can think of, nobody really knows them well enough to know that they are SO much more than dangerous, except you, of course. Im seriously jealous of your connection with these animals and I hope I can open a animal sanctuary and become a vet when I grow up! Lions are no where near that powerful, and even if they were, Kevin knows what he is doing. If the animal is angry, he'll avoid it, if it's hungry, he'll feed it, and he won't do anything that will piss it off.

GoalSmasher he's very aware of the lion's body language, and he won't intentionally piss it off. if they're hungry Kevin will feed them, simple as that. he's working with one of the biggest land predators on earth, he's gonna get scratched no matter what but it's accidental during play

GoalSmasher Kevin Richardson isn't some guy taming his pet lion, he's a professional who's been around dangerous animals for a few decades. Lions are aware of what their teeth can do, and they save bites to the neck solely for killing, they know not to do so during play. Also, a simple deep cut will not kill Kevin, there's always medical help nearby

Yes he has on a 2 part documentary called Killer IQ: Lion vs Hyena. Kevin & some of the top animal scientist did different test to see how smart both are & how they use those smarts in their respective societies to survive in the wild.
