A new video, I love this channel. Nice to see you old 🦊 foxiest get out for a drink 🍷 once in a wile. Haverhill High Street is really rundown now to many charity shops and book makers. I live in Haverhill near the Rising Sun. That pub was once called the Fox was it named after you Mavis? I have seen some great bands there. Shame it closedown. Your brave going to the Pimp not a nice part of town. The Scarlet Pimpernel was once called the Vixen another pub named after you. I remember the Australian Arms never that busy bit out the way. The Bell was top Friday and Saturday night fun. I remember drinking in the Plow just before the 🔥 fire. The Drabbet was Murray’s arcade. Good memory’s Mavis. Haverhill is not what it used to be, shame. Love the Beatles music. In Haverhill I love you more.

my parents came from Nottingham to live at the Woolpack, 1947. In 1948 I was born and this was on my birth Certificate, "the woolpack" although I have lived in Nottingham since being 3 yrs old, I have only visited the Woolpack once just a few years ago. My dad worked at th woolpack and also at the Co-op Store. Sandra

I remember The Fox used to be The Rising Sun when I lived in the town about 50 years ago as Scott Wallace recounts. I had many a drink in the Aussie's and along the high street there was The Ram. an Ind Coope pub (dreadful beer) and also the White Horse opposite Chapmans. As for the Plough, my dear old Dad used to say in his broad Haverhill accent, 'You know you ain't a lot of good when you take a left turn at the Plough.' For non-residents of the town, this was the entrance to the cemetery.

The Rising sun was a popular and vibrant pub back in 1976 when Tom and Flo ran it . Most of the Kicks family drank and played darts there and quite a few Winmau staff were regulars , it was like a golden age of darts Some real lively characters drank in there and most of us played in the darts team at a time when the town had about 14 pubs ' so sad to see it derelict now because it was once a thriving place with many a good arrow thrown . Used to drink in the Plough on occasion and the landlord Peter Cleary was an unforgettable character who would have lock ins and tell long jokes with hilarious punchlines ,can still remember wobbling home and seeing the milk floats after many hours of drinking in there . Really proud to have lived in Haverhill during those times , lots of great memories of the different pubs and their colorful characters when Darts brought so many people together .

It was a very small shop, story is that the manager at the time was helping his self to the takings, hence the closure

Andy's was the place to be , it was packed on a Saturday morning , I spent many hours in there , flicking through the 12 in remixes of the 80s .

Great shop back in 1977 with lots of new records from the new Punk explosion , can remember all the picture covers on the walls , heady days . Used to visit the main Andys Records in Cambridge too which had a downstairs dept with lots of rare punk singles .
