Another cool video, thx! Brings back memories from when we rode into town from the north on Ruta40 late in the afternoon, freezing cold like It seems you were too. But what a cool town San Antonio was. Biggest regret we had was not being able to ride to Cachi over the Abra the next day. They had the road blocked because a river had washed out the road over the pass. But living vicariously through the trip you are making makes up for it. Love your video's!

Awesome - glad we could help facilitate a stroll down memory lane! Yeah, unfortunately we missed the road between Cachi and the pass due to similar circumstances. It seems like that section of Ruta-40 is closed about half the time..

NICE! I am amazed and pleased that you find some of the most amazing cemeteries! Cool fun fact. Human evolution is cool to me because I consider myself Homo Sapien 2.0! That is a story for another day. I am amazed that you don't get lost more often than you do! Using the drone to survey your location is brilliant. Even if it only confirms that you are lost. Thanks for another amazing video. I look forward to the next one! Take care. TC

Thank you sir! Yeah, Rose and I are a bit strange. We both used to love cemeteries as children. They serve as a gentle reminder that we are here for a finite amount of time. As far as getting "lost"... I did a lot of backpacking in my youth. I know how to navigate via map and compass, and always carry a compass with me. I have survived getting snowed-in in the Sierra Nevada Wilderness with no winter gear, and lost in triple digit heat in the middle of the Utah desert with no water. I have a very large comfort zone when it comes to being "lost". All you have to do is put your tent, build a fire, and call it camping. 😁

This is nice, quality content. A tip: Do 4K videos. It makes a big difference on a big screen. Especially with large vistas. KZbin uses the AV01 codec for your videos which is a lower quality one compared to vp90. Larger creators get the vp90 codec on 1080p videos, smaller creators, only on 1440p and 4K.
@TwoWheelsThreeSheets9 ай бұрын
Thanks for the tip. I wasn't aware of the codec variants. We've considered using 4K in the past, but our biggest issue is storage space. We're already traveling with 18 terabytes worth of hard drives... 😬

@TwoWheelsThreeSheets10 ай бұрын
Were you keeping count?? 😅 We left the Africa Twin, our gear and most of our worldly possessions in Patagonia when we returned to Los Angeles during covid. While back in LA, I got the CB and rode to the Arctic. When we returned to Patagonia, the 500 stayed in California. Rose has ridden it a couple times, but still isn't comfortable on it (it's a bit tall for her). Hopefully, once we get the Africa Twin back to Los Angeles, she'll have a bit more motivation to ride the CB. 👍

Well it really depends on what the bike was for. Back in Los Angeles I have a CB500x (aka the Halfrica Twin) that I rode to the Arctic, solo. Ideally, Rose will start riding that (the jury is still out), and I could get a newer TransAlp. But if we were to continue riding 2-up, just a newer model Africa Twin. On the other hand, if we do end up transitioning to living on a sailboat, I'll need two bikes small enough to transport easily. So perhaps a couple of the new CT125s... 🤔
