You're welcome Terry. I didn't know Bishop Watkins, but I've heard many good things about him. I, too, am of the apostolic persuasion.

The words are so beautiful, first hearing this song a few days ago.

Bishop Watkins would come to Columbus, Ohio often to participate in concerts at the Church of Christ with its large youth and young peoples choir. There were more than 100 in the choir, maybe 150. And they sang this song at one of their concerts and wrecked the place. I mean wrecked it. When they got to the final part, "Lost Sheep", it was all over. The recordings are nice, and I am glad we have them. But the live concerts will be remembered as something extraordinary. I was too young to care about meeting him. But now I wish I had, because it seems he was an amazing man.

VantisDoroHall Bishop Watkins was one of the unheralded ones. I have all of his recordings. As you can see, posts of his material don't garner a decent view count which is why I haven't posted much from him.

He wasn't as well known as others, but those who knew of him, knew of his great talent. As well, those who knew him well always speak of his kindness and desire to help others. I have some live recordings of him that I will post as soon as I learn how. They are on tape. Very few of his recordings compare to his live work. He was a master at getting people together for a concert.

Bishop Watkins was tabbed as the pastor of my mother's home church in Cleveland, OH, succeeding Elder Fisher. Just the memories became a real tear-jerker for me. In fact, I still have a couple of LP's (anyone remember what they are) of Bishop Watkins songs.
