My best friend had this raptor, and I had the same one you got as a kid. I named mine Ace. I think Ace and Cyclops will forever be my favorite raptor sculpts. Very cool to see the repaints, I never knew they existed.

Poor unlucky number 13 raptor, got a bunch of bad/mediocore repaints. funny how those repaints of the *cyclops* raptor don't even have a scarred left eye therefore they aren't even cyclops'. Also I think it's cool that it had a bunch of scars, like you said it kinda gives it it's own back story

I like the original and JP3 one. The last repaint isn't bad. Ever since Hasbro's JW line, Kenner stuff keeps going up in price. I would love to see you review the Mattel Scorpius Rex, either the electronic one or one in the pack with Kenji and the Gyrosphere. I got the latter one and I really like it. It has arm articulation unlike the electronic one which is tied to an action feature and the tail on the electronic one can't be posed as it is tied to a spring loaded feature while the Kenji pack one can.

I plan on reviewing one of those, just need to go to Target at some point. I think I have one preordered on Amazon but Amazon constantly changes the arrival dates for preordered Jurassic World stuff.

I almost picked this obe up back in december for 15$,but i passed on it. The one for sale looked in really rough shape but might pick it up in the future to go with my bull rex. All i have is the jp 3 alpha male raptor

Hello! Great video as always and I can’t wait for more reviews In the future. One thing though, if you have the figure and ever get around to it I would really like to see a review of the Jurassic park ornithosuchus figure. Thanks.

Ohh, FINALLY, I missed your Jurassic reviews a lot! Still I have to find this classic piece, the original or any of its releases: my predilect one is the Walmart exclusive repaint released for 'Jurassic Park 3', I really enjoy those colors, kinda similar to the paint scheme of the male raptors in the movie... a bit, at least. In second place's the green one with red eyes of the last 'JP: Dinosaurs' toy line. Curiosly, Cyclops was just a one-eye creature in 'The Lost World' line: after that, always had both eyes!!! The one I dislike the most's the repaint released for the first 'Jurassic Park: Dinosaurs' 1999 toy line. It's the most boring and "tasteless" between the four.
@jurassicreviewschannel3 жыл бұрын
Yeah the 1999 one is also my most disliked, that line in general had some pretty boring paint jobs.
@camoxtremecarnosaur95673 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I agree with that! One of the only repaints I like of that line's the green Pteranodon with 2 purple Hatchlings. I have that one since I was 6 years old! My second JP toy in fact. Or even the brown Baryonyx, repaint of the Series 2 Bary from 'The Lost World'. That's cool, too, at least in my opinion. Or the Dimetrodon. So yeah, a few of them are even better than the original releases!

Do you always mention the price on release of the figures you review? Even though you naturally refer to the price in dollars, I'm happy to know this because I was trying to find price information on Jurassic Park toys before. 4.99 sounds cheap, but 30years ago was naturally a very different arena for everything price-wise, let alone toys.
@jurassicreviewschannel3 жыл бұрын
Yeah in the past I usually would mention what the original figure went for in dollars, I think this is the first video where I also included the repaints.

I always find it interesting when jp fans separate Kenner and Hasbro. I’m not saying it’s wrong to do so, but in reality it was always Hasbro producing the toys until fallen kingdom released. Hasbro purchased Kenners parent company (Tonka) in 1991, Kenner then became a production team under Hasbro. Their name may have been on the box but the legal information was Hasbro’s. (Fun fact, if you flip over and check the legal info on the bottom of jp1 toys it lists Kenner, if you do the same thing to any jp figures produced after that Hasbro’s name is listed instead). In 1999 all of kenners properties were sold under the Hasbro name for the first time, the Kenner team were still the ones working on them though. Their office would finally close in the year 2000.
@jurassicreviewschannel Жыл бұрын
Yep, the Kenner office in Cincinnati was about 30 minutes from me, there's a ton of ex Kenner people around here.

@@jurassicreviewschannel it’s kind of a shame what happened to Kenner, I guess Hasbro was somehow not satisfied with Kenner’s sales in the late 90’s and shut them down. JP3 toys then started development under the Star Wars team not long after their shutdown. After that I can only assume a small set of people were assigned to the jp devision, we would only get repaints after that (though they we’re pretty decent). All of the new figures that were produced pre Jurassic world were all sculpted by freelance sculptors. (With maybe the exception of the bull trex retool). Fun fact regarding those new figures: did you know we weren’t supposed to just get the allosaurus and pachyrhinosaurus? We were also supposed to get a carnotaurus and stegosaurus (you probably know about them). But there was also another one, a few years ago one of those sculptors released an image of another figure he made for the line, a styracosaurs. (This sculptor was the guy responsible for the pachyrhinosaurus), I’m pretty sure he went on to create the beasts of the Mesozoic toy line. (It is unclear if any more freelance designed dinosaurs were created). I predict at least one more exists, the styracosaurus was in a smaller scale in comparison to the other 4 we know of. (I’ve also heard rumors of a trex in that style also might have existed, I can’t find any solid evidence of it though).
@jurassicreviewschannel Жыл бұрын
@@XPproductions365 Yeah I remember the Stegosaurus and the Carnotaurus, they even put tape over the Stegosaurus image on the boxes for the released figures. Hoping some prototypes of those surface someday, but imagine they are still at Hasbro.
@XPproductions365 Жыл бұрын
@@jurassicreviewschannel those figures have a very interesting history to them. First starting out as a jp x gi joe line that was meant to be released in 2011. Then when that failed to get approved they were pitched again as just another gi joe line (now featuring dinosaurs). Then they were finally set to be released along side reissues of the figures from 2009. Only half of both sets would eventually be released. (The reissues of the triceratops and dilophosaurus were canceled, which wasn’t a huge loss since they were just reissues). The carno and stego got so far in production that both of their packaging were actually finished. The textures for them were leaked online not long after the jp 2013 line released.(by the way, the carno and stego already did leak out, unpainted copies of all 4 of those Dino’s were put up on eBay by a factory worker around 2011 after the original pitch failed). There was actually a ton of items for that line leaked that way at the time. Including new vehicles and repainted gi joe vehicles. (When you realize the stego and carno boxes were finished that means completed copies did exist. The question of whether they still exist is a different matter entirely). I’ve seen early painted copies of the allosaurus (that differ from the final) and I might have seen a painted copy of the stego recently (it was the actual figure, I’m just not sure if they painted one of the unpainted ones or not).
