Many of those locations are now unrecogizable, but is nice to know where did our favourite film in childhood was set. I visited San Francisco in 2003 (was 23 years then) and only could recogniced the Lombard Street, as a location of "Herbie the love bug"...

At the 3:37 mark, the alley in question is actually Christiansen Alley - located between Pasadena Avenue to the West, De Lacey Avenue to the East, Union Street to the North, and Colorado Boulevard to the South. Christiansen Alley in Pasadena is where they shot the alley scenes, and I ought to know as I went down that particular alley a lot between 2005 to 2007 as a wee lad.

Wow! Thanks so much! We have been looking for that location for literally years, with no success. We wrongly assumed it was in the Burbank area, and most likely had been redeveloped. I can't believe it looks almost exactly the same as in the film; even some of the painted advertising remains. Seriously, thanks again! I will denote you as the "located by" credit for all of our records.

Two things: first, a massive thank you note to the people who put all of this together for our entertainment. Second, what is TLB-**** ?

Thanks, Herbert! The TLB-001, etc., is the reference number for the “Ultimate Herbie the Love Bug Filming Locations” map. The link to the map is in the description.

Thanks. I got a nod for this on Facebook, but looks like someone took footage of a ton of it. We did a lot of research on this 10 years ago and it was all posted up on the LoveBugFans message board. (This is JimDouglasJr posting)

@Dy1an-has-0 Nope. That's the trick of forever. Even this youtube video of filming location won't last forever.

Hi. Have two questions. What means soundstage and former backlot in relation of Disney Studios?
@53filminglocations162 жыл бұрын
Hi! “Soundstage” means that, despite the appearance that the scene was filmed outside, it was actually filmed on a Disney soundstage. “Former backlot” means it was filmed on the backlot set of Disney Studios. The backlot was torn down in the 1980’s, I believe, to make room for additional office buildings on the Disney lot in Burbank.
