Blessings from Alberta, Canada 🍁 🇨🇦 , & congratulations on your 10 years of sobriety! I have witnessed how difficult the journey is, as my brother fought the, at times, dual demons of drugs AND alcohol. Coupled with mental illness, he was a train wreck waiting to happen. Over. And over. And over again. In & out of prison - thankfully for property crimes only (no weapons), which is actually where he got addicted to narcotics, thanks to a nurse who took a "liking" to him. Several years later, out of the crowbar hotel, he spiraled into using heroin, eventually shooting up several times a day. Numerous suicide attempts over the years also. A month or so before going before the parole board, he "got" religion. Once released, he went back to his old habits. Repeat. Repeat. And repeat again, more times than I have fingers on one hand. One year for Xmas, (he was doing federal time) I sent him a Bible with his name embossed in gold. Shortly after, he was transferred to a psychiatric penitentiary in another province. Many of the individuals housed there had Lieutenant Governor's Warrants, meaning they were so dangerous to the public they could never be released. My bro was transferred there because his psych meds had stopped being effective, & the federal pen was not equipped to deal with that type of issue. Coming up for parole, he was once again "getting" religion. And then it was movie night, held in the cafeteria. A guy, sitting behind my bro, attacked the guy sitting beside my bro with a shank. In the melee, my bro also ended up getting stabbed, before he could get out from under the guy who was attacked & had fallen over, onto him. He told me that in that moment, he prayed to God to save him. The guy sitting beside him was killed. My bro spent a few days in the local hospital. This time the "getting" religion stuck! My bro said God answered his prayer that night. Coupled with seeing the guy beside him murdered, and almost ending up that way himself... The day he was released, the gate guard said he'd no doubt see my brother again shortly. My brother told him that just wasn't going to happen. And it DIDN'T! No more alcohol. No drugs other than prescribed psych meds. Knowing how slippery the slope is, & how easily he could start using again, he refused the morphine they offered him for pain in the ER when he had a compound ankle fracture. He relented & took some Tylenol 3. They thought he was crazy & likened that to a spoonful of sand in a kid's sandbox. He stuck to his guns, though, until the OR staff gave it to him via intravenous before he came - to in the recovery room. Also getting IV antibiotics, it took him a couple of days to clue in, at which point he refused it. They wanted to taper the dosages. He said no & went cold turkey. The sobriety, and religion, stuck for 20+ years, until he passed away from cancer, still drug free, excepting his psych meds. R.I.P. bro 😇

Here I am in 2024. I’m 61 years old. If I told you all that had happened in my life you wouldn’t believe it. I have no right to be alive. So much anguish and pain. Much was perpetuated by Satan. Much by my own sin. I have been surrounded by violence from people I love, even my own son. If I had a chance to go back and change anything, I wouldn’t change a thing! It’s all been so worth it because the more I suffered, the more I’ve experienced, the more of the love of God was poured out on me. It truly is measureless and strong and will evermore endure!

As a Worship leader, I led this song at least twice a month and always at Communion. The greatest show of Love was God sending His only Begotten, innocent and pure SON to die for wretched humanity. I will never comprehend why He would do such a thing. It is beyond me. But when I look at my past and see God's mercy in Jesus, I know I will always be forever thankful to Him.

Thank you for sharing this beautiful song. There used to be another song called, ‘ The Love Of God.’ The love of God means more to me, than this old world could ever be, it reaches down from, the throne of Glory, and sets the vilest sinner free. That’s the chorus. It also was a beautiful song & my husband & I sang it in Church. I would love to hear it sang again, because it was so special to us! Lord bless you. 👏🙌🕊

Verse 1 The love of God is greater far Than tongue or pen can ever tell. It goes beyond the highest star And reaches to the lowest hell. The guilty soul, bowed down with care, God gave His Son to win; His erring child He reconciled And pardoned from his sin. Chorus O love of God, how rich and pure! How measureless and strong! It shall forevermore endure The saints’ and angels’ song. Verse 2 When hoary time shall pass away, And earthly thrones and kingdoms fall; When men who here refuse to bow, On rocks and hills and mountains call; God’s love, so sure, shall still endure, All measureless and strong; Redeeming grace to Adam’s race The saints’ and angels’ song. Chorus O love of God, how rich and pure! How measureless and strong! It shall forevermore endure The saints’ and angels’ song. Verse 3 Could we with ink the ocean fill, And were the skies of parchment made; Were every stalk on earth a quill, And every man a scribe by trade; To write the love of God above Would drain the ocean dry; Nor could the scroll contain the whole, Though stretched from sky to sky. Chorus O love of God, how rich and pure! How measureless and strong! It shall forevermore endure The saints’ and angels’ song.

Great song But....Seriously, you guys changed the end of the second verse...why? From: "Redeeming Grace, to Adams Race" To: "Grace will resound, the whole earth round"....? That's weak and displays a conforming to modern culture rather than standing true to biblical truths.

Not sure what they meant by the lowest hell, but there is no love in hell. Unless they meant the statement hell on earth, which there is nothing on earth (no situation etc) that can compare to hell.

Jesus went to the depths of hell during the 3 days if I’m not mistaken. I’ll definitely check tho. But there are dark places in this life that makes us feel like it’s hell on earth.
