Im so sorry. Anxiety is really fucking hard to deal with and it often stops you from doing things you really want to do. But i think that if you just keep trying, the more you do those things, the more you get used to it and eventually the panic attacks will be less strong and not happen so often :)

Snow, I suffered for a long long time with panic attacks and it can be an ongoing struggle. But, I did over time learn that little by little you can overcome some if not all of the situations that bring on the anxiety. If it's large groups of people that bring on the anxiety, I might recommend you give yourself a job at the next event you wish to attend. Often, it might be the fear that you may have to interact with all these people and in your mind the " what if's " start to creep in and with them the feelings of being out of control and anxious. So, by giving yourself a job to attend to, you are more focused on getting it accomplished than you are on having to interact with so many people. If you like to take pictures, assign yourself the duty to document the event digitally for a web page or facebook page, etc. When you have something else that pulls your attention to it, like this job, then you have time for your thoughts to calm themselves and over time this will allow you to enjoy the events for longer periods of time. I meet lots of people these days, and it can be a little nerve wracking at times, but I do attend lots of music events and I always take my camera. Call it a crutch if you will, but it has enabled me to meet and photograph a lot of musicians and I am living more of my life these days than I ever thought possible. I hope this helps. Also, try smaller venues at first,so you don't feel as overwhelmed, and remember, little by little , it can get better and you are certainly not the only person to have panic attacks, so never feel embarassed or ashamed of that. You are not alone. :)
